I just have this feeling,it's going to be Batman 1989 again with lots of Joker screen time and not enough Wayne as Batman screen time. Do the rest of you feel the same way at all?

Not especially.

I always felt that Batman wanted to be kept as a mystery where Joker was just an outrageous character that wanted the most exposure as possible.

I think Joker will steal the show against Batman in anything, be it film or comics but this is purely down to the nature of the character

Well I dont htink joker will get more screen time but he will defiantly overshadow Batman in TDK

Agreed; I just think it may seem that way because everyone will be captivated by Ledger's kickass performance. :brucebat:

^indeed. but interms of it being a JOKER story and guest staring Batman, like 89 was, i dont think it'd be THAT, for crap sake the credits bore Jacks name then Mikes...granted Jack was a bigger star than MK....

I'm not going to lie but the Joker is the main reason I am seeing this movie.

It's a super hero movie, it might seem that the Joker will reign in the movie, but the movie's best moments could be the climax, and in the climax the hero wins. 'd be cool if the Joker did something to totally mess with Batman's head forever, like a super villain "scar." After all, I thought that the 1989 Batman established a healthy medium between the two.

I think everyone will be focused on Heath's performance for obvious reasons. That's about the only way I see Joker overshadowing Batman.

I was actually afriad it would go down like that, with Joker overshadowing Batman, especially with that first trailer. But maybe Nolan and Co. though it best to show more of the Joker to promote the movie, and keep everything about Batman a secret til the movie comes out. I mean, he did say that Joker didn't really have a storyline, that he was just a storm destroying Gotham. Since Joker isn't really that involved with the general important plt of the film, he was the best way to promote it. Plus, he probably also wanted to show the general public that Ledger nailed the role. When TDK comes out, we'll probably see the film being more about Batman... Hopefully.:brucebat:

Yes, definitely the joker overshadows Batman. No doubt about it. Its the reason most people are interested in TDK anways which is to see Ledger's portrayal of the joker. If it were any other actor as the Joker I doubt people would have been interested in TDK much.

yes i agree to that the joker will overshadow batman .... batmans story will go on...but while jokers in the game he will be the main thing...and i guess we cant wait to see his performance...also during the movie ...so like: joker scene is done, some plot is going on/ ...and we all sit there /...wheres the joker ....????

Isn't t said though that Joker has 10 scenes tops? Or less? Bruce Wayne/ Batman, Gordon, and Dent I've heard got the most. Rachel has a few. So, I think his performance will overshadow Batman's but him overall will not be the central character of the movie but we might have another Nicholson incident where the villain chews the scenerey up and leaves teeth-marks in his wake.

hasnt this been discussed like a million times already?? of course he will overshadow batman but i think they are deliberatly showing us all thsi joker stuff to make us forget about batman and two face then the movie starts and batman takes center stage with a two face arch nobody sees coming.. my opinion tho..

Wouldn't it be funny if they show alot of Batman at the beginning and the audience will get pissed for not showing the Joker soon enough?

Well...

I think the prologue will be enough of a taste of Mr. J for viewers before seeing him again later on :cwink:

Given the circumstances, I actually HOPE TDK is 3 hours long and HOPE Ledger has a ton of screentime. As I said, given the circumstances.

Usually I want Batman/Bruce to have way more screentime than any other character. But not in this case, but it's because everyone should be selfish enough to want as much screentime as possible for one of Ledger's last roles.
