Does anyone think they will film a castle to be used for Doom's fortress in Latveria?

I've heard that there are some nice castles or castle like buildings in Canada...does anyone think we will honestly get something that is suppose to be Castle Doom? How about something that is actually suppose to be a "primitive" looking village in Latveria?

If Story and co can't find a suitable location to shoot the Latveria scenes, i suggest they come here. Theres plenty of beautiful castles that are suitable and filming is fairly inexpensive too.

A CGI shot would be enough. Remember the onesof Gotham in Batman Begins?? They looked 100% realistic.

^^Yeah but they still went all the way to Iceland to shoot it and its not even completely cg. They created and shot part of Ra's temple on location, then shot the model version on a soundstage and combined the two in post. Or at least thats what i think they did. Correct me if i'm wrong.

He's talking about Gotham itself. Alot of shots of the narrows were completely CGI. Same thing you can do with Doom's castle. CGI exterior shots mostly at night so you can hide any defects and just have it match the interiors that are on a stage.

Yes there are CG shots in the film but its more enhancement than anything. A lot of the stuff was shot in real locations (London, Chicago and NY) and they used a lot of models too for the narrows.

Bah! I want to see Latveria in all its glory not just night shots.
They can come to Europe to shoot it. I swear theres tons of places where theres a Latverian type setting. It will be cheap to shoot and it should look glorious on film.

Latveria is an Eastern European area, and while I'm sure they won't give Story the budget to fly out there just to shoot it, there are snowy places up north in Canada and Vancouver that can replace it, just add a CG castle.

I'd rather they shoot a real cliff but if the fake thing looks real i won't complain.WETA is working on this after all.

Well while I'd LOVE to see Doom's castle... have we even got confirmation any part of the movie will be set in Latveria?

I wouldn't say its confirmed but its a safe bet. Doom was heading to Latveria at the end of Fantastic Four and he is back for this movie. Put 2 and 2 together and what do you get?

I honestly wouldn;'t be surprised if the whole movie was just him returned to America.

Do I detect a hint of sarcasm or just your honest opinion...if Story really is determined to fix mistakes, etc. then having Doom in Latveria in his castle is a great start and I don't see why it won't happen. If this has any ties to the Doom/Surfer storyline of the original comics, then the Surfer will come to Latveria and Doom gets him there.....

There's a couple castles in Victoria... Hatley and the spooky Craigdarroch Castle, but they used Hatley for X-Men 2 & 3 already.
