maybe its just me but at the end of Thor 1, though i THORoughly enjoyed it, i desperately wanted more. TDW did not deliver, but Ragnarok certainly has. Now I want to rewatch Thor1 and watch Ragnarok right after! Anybody else feel this way?

Definitely agree. Watching Thor: Ragnarok made me want to rewatch the whole Thor trilogy. I always liked Thor 1 a lot. Thor 2 is obviously the weakest film in the trilogy, but even that movie is worth seeing purely for the scenes with Thor and Loki interacting. It's cool to see how the characters and the mythos have evolved over the course of the three films.

I watched both before seeing Ragnarok. The first was better, the second was entertaining if not anything else. I don't really think they learned any lessons from TDW because the chief complaint was the human characters -- Darcy, Selvig, intern, dinner date guy -- made the movie too silly and so forth.

So they eliminate all the human characters and make the Asgardian and alien characters silly.

If only Grandmaster and Korg and a few others had been funny I think it would have been better. All the ingredients were there but Taika gonna Watiti.

It should have said "A Taika Watiti Film"

But what will they learn from the success of this movie? -- To make the (possible) next one epic and ambitious or "Funny from start to finish"

Well I tend to rewatch the previous films first anyway.

They did learn from TDW. They nixed auxiliary characters. Thor interacts much more with people in the third film. It's also not a love story.

Of course it does present the issue. Would Thor be another comedy or should they try to go for the seriousness of TDW again?

Once Ragnarok is out on Blu-Ray, I'm looking forward to eventually watching them all back to back - probably with both Avengers flicks in between as they really are part of the same narrative.

I love all 3 movies & yep made me watch both after seeing TR

i spotted some connecting things esp with the 1st film

Like the constant tasering in that film by Darcy & in TR he was too tasered with that neck thingy

or the mention of Bruce in Thor 1 by Selvig!

Thor 1 is so criminally underrated by the populous. That is the movie that made me realize my MCU fandom. I went into not knowing a thing about Thor. I came out of it thinking so highly of it that is now my favorite phase I film and my #3 MCU film overall (only surpassed by the greatness of Winter Soldier and Doctor Strange).

Thor 2 was not the most disappointing MCU movie (both Avengers movies were severely disappointing) but it is my least favorite.

    Thor Ragnarok was outstandingly epic!

    A one, a two, a three, a four...!

It has. Was watching some clips from Thor 1 until I get the time to rewatch the whole thing. I never seen past the beginning of Thor 2 so I'm going to get into that as well. I also rewatched Thor and some Hulk scenes from AoU.

I finally got to see the movie last night with some friends, and all this week I'm planning on watching the Thor and Avengers movies movies with my fiance so we can go again next week.

This movie really helps lift up The Dark World and round out the Thor trilogy.

I do the exact same thing whenever I watch the Captain America trilogy. I like to watch his whole story unfold.

I really liked Thor 1. It was the movie that awoke my interest in Thor. It's was a nice introduction to the character... the fish out of water stuff, the comedy, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, the brotherhood dynamic, a great introduction to a great villain...

I really dislike what they did with Thor: 2. It has some decent stuff but for the most part it was a massive disappointment. I have no interested in revisiting.

Thor Ragnarok is freaking awesome. Taika Waititi reinvigorated the character of Thor and the franchise. It's a miracle what he accomplished really. It isn't a perfect movie that's for sure but it fires in so many cylinders and manages to deliver a breath of fresh air into the MCU.

I generally like my superhero films to be more serious but I thoroughly enjoyed Ragnarok. And for the first time I found Thor interesting

Ragnarok was an awesome film - in general I would have preferred more Hela, less Grandmaster, and I do think that it could have been much more serious, and probably benefited from that, but there's just a lot to like about it.

Definitely. One of the few things I didn't like was that there was one point where we didn't see Hela onscreen for quite some time and I felt the film slumped just a little then. Not that the others weren't good, but she was just so damned great!

OMG, yes, she was incredible!!!!!!!!!!!! I was just blown away by Hela. Cate Blanchett is the definitive Goddess of Death for me.
