Do you think Speed Racer's Box Office flop is going to make studios no look at anime for box office gold?

I'm sure they will pick up another anime. This one was just horribly done, when transferred to the big screen.

If Dragonball pulls a Speed Racer (hopefully it won't) then anime adaptations will be hard to come by.

No they'll still look at animes. They'll just look at the good ones from now on.

To be honest, I was never a fan of Speed Racer. And I never saw it as one of those animes that would make a great live action flick. :o

Put this franchise (if they were planning on turning it into one) to rest and move on. Plenty of animes out there that the W brothers can trick out.

I think thing with Speed is that it has such differnt/unusual/weird style that critics and moviegoers aren't sure what to make of it

Well, Transformers proves otherwise. I haven't seen Speed Racer yet. I think Iron Man had a big impact on Speed Racers bad sells.

No it doesn't Transformers proves that 80's cartoons can do well as movies, its not an anime.
Yeah I think Speed Racer as a bomb will hurt the idea of doing big screen Anime. It'll be a few years I think before they put alot of faith into a big budget anime again. Sort of like Comic book movies. After Batman and Robin and other comic book failure like The Rocketerr, and Steel it was awhile before we saw another big budget comic flick.

Well the Dragon Ball movie is still on...I'm not looking foward to it, and I do expect it to fail, but if it does well...

I wanna see a Naruto live action movie

I don't think that would work.Shows like:
Avatar
Trigun
Gundam Wing
FMA
Cowboy Bebop
Kenshin
Afro Samurai
Samurai Champloon
Trinity Blood
Blood
Samurai 7
Hellsing
would work do great on the big screen not shows like naruto sailor moon blue dragon yu gi oh or pokemon. I don't even think dragon ball is gonna work.

*points gun at X-Ray*

What are you implying about Speed Racer?:cmad:

That it .....

**runs**

:o

You better run!!!:cmad: Because it's good.... I swear it...

*curls up in the feedle position with a Speed Racer dvd in his hand with his thumb in his mouth*

Okay, so it was my first anime, and nostalgia has taken over my brain. I just wish the Watowski(sp) Brothers hadn't smoked pcp before writing the script to it's big screen film.

Actually, there were several TF anime series, like the Headmasters and RID.

That would be horrible :nono: I love Naruto but i just cant see how it would make a good live action movie.

Well, I think Naruto can be adapted to the big screen easier than Dragonball.

As do I since I saw Shinobi: Blades Under Heart which is an adaptation of Ninja Scrolls. And if the W brothers' "Ninja Assassin" does well next year. Who knows ?

Yeah I know. I've watched them. They're crap. But the movie was pretty much G1, and no g1 isn't anime you other guy.

I can see it being like Video game movies, where for some reason they keep trying to adapt bad ones or ones that won't work well as movies.

Fox is still spending over $100 million on Dragon Ball. So unfortunately no.
