The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Does this movie really deserve the hate it gets?

Well, except for the crotch shot, yeah. The rest of it was hilarious, though.

"A god namned Sparkles?" in ASM2 was just too... It fet like they were trying way too hard.

Yeaaaaaap. Wasn't fond of "da boYZ IN BLUE HEAAAAHHH!?!: either. I did kinda like the "if you're gonna steal a car...don't...dress like a car thief. " line, but the ASM2 "quips" were terrible.

Didn't help that I couldn't understand most of Spidey was saying in that scene. Seriously, it sounded like "ISTHATAKNIFEYESIT'SAKNIFEMYWEAKNESSIT'SKNIVESASJHSBSNSNK."

It was a complete mess, but in parts it was a fun mess.

Watching the making of features of this movie really gave me some much needed insight on what Marc Webb and crew were trying to do with this movie. On paper it sounded good and was a noble attempt to great the biggest/ best spider man to date. However, some decisions to cut things and cram all these plot points in was where the movie fell apart. Still it's not as horrible as Green Lantern, X Men Origins, X-Men 3, Superman Returns, Batman and Robin, Daredevil, Electra etc.

Hahaha you're not gonna like what i'm going to say, but I think that TASM 1 and TASM 2 are better action/aventure movies than all MCU phase 2 movies :oldrazz: (I'm not including Avengers 2 , of course...) !

I love...you?

Will you gladly write done if the things you've learned?

Garfield is a great Spider-Man. But his Peter gives off this smarmy, smug "too cool for school" attitude.

I'd say he's more confident and mature than cool. Infact, Peter in the comics wasnt much of a loser as people make him out to be

90% of the "quips" Garfield's Spidey says are not funny and feel forced. A god named sparkles is a good example. I mean Electro doesn't even call himself that and neither does the media, so it doesn't even make sense. It's just a name Spider-Man decided to call him.

Sparkles is just a name for teasing. Why would electro call himself that?

There's no shortage of things to hate about this movie. The awful humor, and that includes the cheesy dialogue, has been under fire since day 1.

Yup, the majority of the lines in ASM2 were kinda lame. The only funny one, to me, was the "Not a shaker? Are you a... Hugger?", mainly because of the incredible stunt work and body language invovled. It took two stunt guys + Andrew, which I can appreciate.

Yeah I agree with that. Though it's funny when you say it two two stunt guys and Andrew to sell that line lol.

That part was truly awful. I almost wish the Cops had shot him lol.

Like it's so bad it's entertaining. I get that. I feel that way about Batman and Robin. But this movie for me was just plain bad. The entertainment factor was very minimal.

There's probably only one thing I TRULY hate about this movie...

Aleskei Sytsevich... not RHINO, Aleskei.

That's apart of spider mans personality. He makes quips that are funny or just plain annoying. I would rather he do that than be silent and dull must of the time aka the original trilogy.

That's right, in the comics some writers don't write his jokes good and even he doesnt find some of them good. Heck, his teammates don't find him funny either

I liked pretty much the whole car-thief thing, myself. :)

Again, Andrew's great as Spidey, but the quips in ASM2... Let's just say people on this site could come up with better ones.

Yeah I agree with that. Though it's funny when you say it two two stunt guys and Andrew to sell that line lol.

Glad you can appreciate it.

I wouldn't say it took three people to sell the line, though. The stunt men were obviously just there for the physical part - Andrew voiced all of it.

Yeah. Not every line from Spidey is supposed to be a fall-down-laughing moment. Sometimes he's just talking out loud and not really trying to make humorous remarks--he's often doing it when feeling cocky or even nervous.

And imo Andrew nailed the delivery on the lines.

No they're not. The only people his quips annoy, and are supposed to annoy are the villains, or who ever it is he's mocking like Jonah. The audience/readers are supposed to be entertained and amused by them.

When you're cringing or being annoyed at 90% of his so called quips, then something is seriously wrong. The humor in these movies does not work on the whole. It's god awful. Spider-Man's one liners are no exception.
