(That part in the movie was funny, just so Super-Man!)

LOL! I know! It did strike me as that too! But you're right about Normie and May's chemistry, because i do see them going down that route after they clean up this mess they're about to put Raptor through. Again, i see Normie becoming the Goblin again pretty soon- why? Well he does care for Blackie,(Raptor), even though he's got a jones for May, and if she's going to be forced to go back to crime,(which i think that lawyer cat was about to try and do- make her a deal...), and if anything happens to her, he'll be pissed. Don't you think so? Plus, which Osborne stayed completely sane?! Also, what's in the future for Kaine? Kaine and Allison hooking up maybe?? When they hook up, Kaine has a lotta anger to "work off"!! (LOL!) Time for more new villians,
more new INTERESTING villians! FunnyFace was a fake-a$$ Joker, and a terrible one at that! I hope they,(the Faces'), never show up again in this comic, UNLESS, they revamp him, and make him more "Goblin-esqe", real ruthless, heartless, Doc Ock-ish......ya feel me?? New Spider-Girl thread coming soon, when issue 53 hits!! Our thread is the thrid best in the comics thread, thanks guys, LONG LIVE SPIDER-GIRL!!!!

Heh, I have a question for those posting on this thread...

Now I know Kevin Smith has hinted at it in his Black Cat/Spider-Man: The Evil That Men Do...

But we all know that Felicia comming out happened in the issues of Spider-Girl, so my question is this.

What was your first reaction when it was shown that Felicia is Bi-sexual?

I was a little suprised, I thought it was too big of a change to just add suddenly. I mean they've done everything but said it and yet everyone seems to be taking it in stride. I'm not a bigeot or anything, but I thought they should have devoted some space for reaction thought bubbles by various characters. In stead of only dancing around the issue in the books because Tom D. is worried about parents and such not getting the books for their kids over it.

However call me crazy but Felicia being Bi almost makes her classier to me. For years we've been presented with a rather "loose" Black Cat. Loose in body and mind. I thought that Kevin Smith had really done Black Cat justice in The Evil That Men Do #1 by having her aknowledge what an airhead she was earlier on and it seemed like she had grown up. But as I've read more of the Evil That Men Do Felicia is just comming off as ****y to me. Well almost EVERY character seems too Smith Like.

Don't Get me wrong, Blunt Connection Rules! Dante and Randal are forever etched into my memory. Hell I even liked Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back! But like an earlier poster said, Smith needs a lot of work at being a universal writter. He can give something his "Smith" treatment without eroding what made those characters who they are. I just think things are too wacky in TETMD, I mean people have been murdured in it and all Spidey can do is think about how he has the hots for Felicia. I haven't picked up issue 3 yet but that's the general impression I have so far.

At least in the Spider-Girl books making her bi shows use that she isn't as shallow as some writters have unfairly made her to be.

Anyway that's my thought on it. SO what does everyone else think?

OH CRAP!! I never knew that Felicia Hardy was bi-sexual! I'm shocked! I never knew that she was.......!! Thanks for the education Zen, but damn......bi??? Let's see how they play angle in the future. Oh yeah, as you can see, i missed an issue of Spider-Girl. Can you please tell what issue that was? Thanks.

LOL never knew she was Bi?

Well it was sort of hinted at overtime. There was an issue with MJ talking with Felicia and some black girl who’s name escapes me at the moment.

Clue #1 (I'll call the back girl Jessica)
Felecia and Jessica were holding hands in the intament way (fingers wrapped together, you know what I mean)
Clue #2
They get on the topic about kids. Felicia talks how she met Jessica through work. MJ directly asks "So how did you 2 meet each other?"
Clue#3
Jessica talks about how she thinks Felicity disaprovesof her.

Later On (another issue) MJ is talking with Felecia again, this time about Felicity
Clue # 1
Felecia takes about how she's pretty sure that Felicity disaprovesof her "life-style".

And finally the last bit of stuff that I can remember off the top of my head is this...
Felicia talks to Felicity about being a super-hero.
Clue#1
Jessica is present
Clue #2
As Felicity is storming off she shouts...
"Yeah well I don't think some of your choices have been so hot! Did you even ask me how I felt about dad?"
"then you just go and ditch my dad and go hook up with- never mind!"
Clue #3
Jessica consoles Felicia after the fight in that "I'm your significant other type way".

DAng that clue system was annoying! In any case...I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU DIDN'T GET IT!!!LOL
:D

I can't remember the exact issues, I’ll look them up...

BTW: By angle I think BSM is referring to how people are going to react and how the conflict is going to affect other people in the books.

All I was criticizing was how it was being handled in that nothing seemed to be registering to the rest of the cast.

It wasn't like Felecia is bi? She's with a girl? When did this happen? I never knew? She’s still the same person type thing.

It's being done like this...

She's bi?(they don't even say that) Oh that's nice...
(insert moral lesson about life choices here)

Not saying being understanding is bad, but no one has even really commented on it in the book, I though it would be more...newsworthy.

Ah well looks like I've stumbled upon an engaging topic for the thread.

Here's to hoping for a full 100 posts (or to the last page).

I'm sure if you were in my shoes, you'd be floored too! But it's all gravity TW, you're still my dogg- ain't no love loss! So...uh...what issue was that again, so i can get caught up?? Thanks guys! And we WILL reach a 100!!!!!;)

Ok, now i know what issue you're referring to! The issue where Kaine nearly rips off Peter's bionic leg, and May and Felicity came to the rescue.....ok, ok, ok. But the other incident with MJ and Felica's convo, i'm gonna have to research that myself. Well, it looks like our thread is continuing to find new life with each week! Let's keep it goin'!

I wasn't tripping I just think it aint such a big deal. I know a couple of bi-sexual women myself and no one has ever talked about it, it's just the way things went down, ao to speak. But maybe that's just Sweden?

We're straight as a tact TW. ;) Issue 53 coming soon guys!!

Is our thread really dying guys'? Just a few more posts until 100! I know we can do it! Ok, heres one to just keep us a float until 53....with all that was said in this thread, do you guys see this comic becoming more successful, staying the same, or dying out with its' popularity? This comic has survived two cancellation calls, and has been the second to thrid best Spider comic,(Ultimate and Amazing- depending on the story for that month), on the shelf. It'd be a shame to let a good thing go to waste, i believe Tom and crew have some things up their sleeve, but i think NOW is the time to hit us with the good stuff. In the words of Too Short, "Get it while the gettin's good!" 7 days until issue 53!

Wow. I read that issue with Felicia, but I didn't think that. I guess I'm too stupid to figure things out:(

Feh don't worry about it, like I said I didn't even catch it the first time. I had just finished reading, and flipped back to that part when it all came together...

Hey man, join the club! I thought that Felicity was referring to Felicia divorcing Flash when she made that, "Did you think about how i felt when you....oh never mind!!", comment! Spider-Girl went from G to PG-13!! LOL! But as i've said, i'd like to see where they go with this development, and what revelence it'll have on future stories.

We are a 3 person posting machine for this thread...I'm confident we can hold out till 100!:D

In the words of Barry White, "Sho ya right!". We're gonna make it, despite those who know that Spider-Girl is good read, and don't post in this thread! The number of views prove my point! Peace Zen!

Man!

You guys won't believe what kind of trouble I had to put up with to get in here. My password didn't work so I had to request a new one but that damn service was down or out of order or whatever so I had to... Never mind. I'm here. That's all that matters. Gotta keep this thing going.

Specially now... My girlfriend left for the U.S.A. today, she's working as a stewardist on a boat and she won't be back for another three months.

Kill me.

Then, when she gets back I leave for Brussels, where I'll be working for six months.

Life...

Anyway, sorry to throw up on you guys, but that's the reason I've been abscent. Now I'm back.

Glad to have you back T.W.! Sorry that you and your lady won't have a lotta time to spend together, but you guys' will find the time- where there's a will, there's a way! Keep the faith! And as far as the trainee thing, i think its' because you've only been a Hype Citizen since 2002. Although you have more posts than me, i've been registered w/ Hype since 2000. So hope that explains all that, but on another note: SPIDER-GIRL RULES!!!

She sure does Blaquie, sure does. The strange thing is that a couple of days ago I was registered as "Hype Citizen". Now I'm back to regular old "Trainee". Breaks my heart.

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd I'm Back!

Good to see you back!

I picked up Spider-Girl Issue 52 today. It's pretty cool!

I think Felicity is finally starting to be something other than the stereotypical annoying wannabe. That's cool cus I felt she was getting a flat treatment before. Her fantasy costume kicks butt! The whole sequence with felicity really paints a complex (and a little scary) painting of her inner mind.

Notice how after each scene of her fantasy (whereby it became more angered and even self serving) the shots of her became farther and farther away. You don't need to be a psycology student to figure her out.

May's new look? Well it was good and bad. I love it myself (dig the fish neting...). I think the left wrist band is a little weird. Peters pants are a nice touch, funny that she was wearing an avengers shirt (she always said she was more into the F5). Messy hair? Works but it should be a little more free flowing.

I like it, a step in the right direction but off on it's angle. The thing I like about Spider-Girl is that I can sit down and not have to see dozens of pop references or have to flip judge everyones fashion sense. Heck I don't mind doing that but the change seems a little sudden for dear May (of course remember those issues where she was dressed up like a french girl?). May was always nice as this girl who looked like she carred and was sweet. She looks all judgemental and a bit shallow to me now.

If they can just keep her cool new look but make sure her real personality shines through than it's just her size. when her body expression isn't making her look cynical she looks good.

But one thing, May sometimes would wear her costume underneath her regular cloths, guess that's out now eh?:D

The writting was good, but it also shows how the series is/was having trouble keeping focus, plotlines are being dropped and frankly it's for the best. Since we have so many plotlines, they can't develop as fully. But it looks like the series is starting to deal with those issues. Looking good!

Panel layout...Yoo boy...

Ok I like some of it, but a lot of it was sort of distracting. Spider-Girl can move beyond the 70-80's look without sacraficing the straight looking approach. I mean of course it can innovate all it wants, but this one seemed a little too much with characters hanging all over for little reason.

Almost every shot of Spider-Girl was miss-proportioned badly. Felicity looked older than may in costume (of course those proportions could just be a reflection of Felicities dream world).

All in all I enjoyed it a lot though, it showed that the Spider-Girl team trying new things with the book and that's cool.

Final say: Good issue, some minor art problems, strong text, new ideas.

Note: Felicity is getting a little disturbing...

100TH POST IS UPON US! Who would have thought eh Blaque Spider-Man?

Found a another Spider-Girl picture:
got to Fanart.

Zen, we're almost at the oasis of what most thought would be the improbable for a thread about Spider-Girl, 100 posts!! I'd again like to thank you guys' for all your time, thoughts, comments, and most importantly- your support. I sincerely thank you, and i'm sure Ms. Parker would like to say thanks as well! Now that's outta the way, as you said Zen, Tom De Falco and crew want to go in a certain direction, but there seems to always be something that stops them from giving us a straight Spider-Girl story. As i've already stated, if they aren't going to allow May to learn anymore about the truth about Kaine, Ben Reilly, and all that, then don't! Let's move on to other things, and stop dwelling on the past. Now as far Felicity is concerned, i'm not feeling her character, and i wouldn't mind seeing her go myself. I can see that they're writting more for her, but this ain't her book!
It should be all about May and, it's time that Tommy D let her shine.

-:venom:BSM

I agree with you guys, Felecia is geting way too annoying. What I'd like to see now is something really big, like a space-invasion or something with Spider-Girl playing the key role. A big adventure where she really has to prove herself while the whole world is in jeopardy. What do you think?
