Doesn't it seem odd that Gotham's courts would TWICE allow a self declared playboy(and confirmed bachelor) such as Bruce Wayne guardianship over minors- I thought that married couples automatically took priority over singletons(of either gender)?

Were any married couples interested in "adopting" Drake, Todd, or Grayson in the first place?

If not, Wayne obviously wanted to, and he's well off financially and I'm sure could get enough people to vouch that he would be a fit "parent".

Plus it's Gotham. Everything's corrupt. Gotham would totally favor rich playboys over nice couples in an adoption case. Or maybe the couples corrupt! Or they're all corrupt!

Ahhh! Corruption! Bah!

He probably played the corrupt system. He knows it's corrupt. And these people love their money. And he's got plenty to spare.

Here is a sampling of real life:

Bruce Wayne reading the paper: "Circus family murdered, orphan boy only survivor! Hmmm...nope!"

Yes ... ignore the fact that Batman was there when it happened and he essentially saw Richard going down the same path he was...

I seem to remember reading a sort-of modernized version of the story showing how he legally adopted Dick back in Gotham Knights.

No it doesn't seem odd at all, Bruce has the ability to provide these children with anything they ever wanted/needed. He has shown he can reach success, and all he would have to do is prove that he could be a father figure..really not that hard to do considering he would have an interview, and well we all know mr.waynes charm.
