I WHOLE-HEARTEDLY apologise if this has been brought up before, but has anyone considered the possibility that they're keeping an ace up the sleeve?...that DOFP might actually be a 2 PART STORY?

It occurred to me the other day, that the most exciting thing DOFP presents audiences with - is the combination of both FIRST CLASS & OT cast members.
With this film, they've brought together one of the most incredible cast ensembles of all time! Think of the money spent - the scheduling NIGHTMARE!
...Seems a shame to waste such a cast with only one movie, doesn't it?

If our heroes are successful in this film, changing the events, stopping the bad guys and everything works out nicely...then that's the only opportunity they'll have to combine both casts, right?
Correct me if i'm wrong, but I remember reading an old interview with Bryan Singer where he talked about his idea to shoot X3 & X4 back to back as one big epic story (that featured Sentinels).

What do ppl think? is it possible they could have this planned and kept it a secret?

I hope not!

I want a new story for the next X-Men movie.

But it's such an ambitious, epic story! With so many characters!
Wouldn't you want more time to showcase all the different characters?

Hehe yes I can see you've pretty planned out the entire next trilogy in your head.
So that would mean saying goodbye to Fassbender's Magneto and all the FC cast...you're ok with that?

Wouldn't you want more time to showcase all the different characters?

Sure, with a good writer and story, they could achieve that.

And I always want this series to move forward to the future.

It can't be two parts. This is not a 500 page book. Its just word buddles and about 10 pages, my dear boy.

I can see here your coming from.

With so many characters in the pot its going to be a hard task to give all of them their due in the space of 2 hours.

I think if it was going to be two parts we would already have been told.

My dear Mr. Poseidon, if they can turn "The Hobbit" into a trilogy, i'm sure they can turn an EPIC time-travel adventure with 15-20 characters into two parts.

Yes but what if it's a surprise?
After a couple of X-Men fails, this is there big opportunity to grab the audience back to the X-world...
What if there's a massive cliff-hanger?
Would be a great way to ensure people come back.

Seems they've gone to such a huge effort to acquire such a large cast, plus all these new characters (Quicksilver, Bishop)
...those characters realistically will have to be practically "featured extras" or cameos to fit into the 2 hour time slot. Just sayin?

The thing is X-Men is not even a big movie series like LOTR, Harry Potter and even Twilight.

And at least with those movies, they were adapting the LAST book of the series.

With X-Men, its different.
