A scooper told ComingSoon.net's Superhero Hype! that "Prison Break" star Dominic Purcell appeared on New York radio station WPLJ this morning and was asked by hosts Scott Shannon and Todd Pettengill whether he is up for the role of Bruce Banner/Hulk in Marvel Studios' The Incredible Hulk. Purcell didn't confirm or deny his involvement but the tone of his voice is pretty much a giveaway that he is at least in talks.

Will he be replacing Eric Bana in the follow-up? You can listen to his reply here!

Exactly, how hard is it to play Dracula as well!!!!!!!

Marvel are so **** these days.

Wow, that sucks. I don't think he would be a good Banner. Really hope he doesn't get the role.

I hope for this films sake this is bull----...
Avi: "We can't keep Bana he's just to successful lately he'll cost to much. And he's rather big and manly to be portraying puny Banner."
Zak: "What about Purcell? That large buff guy from Prison Break?"
Avi: "O Rly?"
Zak: "Ya Rly."
Avi: "Genius, film am winnar!"

Hulk 2 facts:

Screenwriter: Zak Penn. Check.

Director: Louis Leterrier. Check.

Bruce Banner: Dominic Purcell. Check.

I'm done, this movie smells like crap.

I can honestly see that being the meeting.

Tell me about it, Fantastic Four, Blade : Trinity, and Elektra can rest easy now, come 2008 they wont be the worst anymore.

He doesn't seem very puny.

Oh well, it's all just talk at this point.

I guess they are trying to make Banner more sympathetic, and Purcell can definitely pull it off. Cast him as Dracula was a bad idea, he´s nothing like that character. I wasn´t crazy about Bana as Banner anyway, so I´ll wait and see how things go. One way or another, if they bring back this franchise at this point it will be nothing short of a miracle...

If the Hulk is going to be a man in a suit for some of his scenes at least, then wouldn't the film be better off casting a smaller guy as Banner?

From what I've seen of Prison Break, Purcell is a pretty big guy. Why would he need to turn into a green monster when he's angry?

Acting ability aside his whole appearance is just wrong for the part. He is too built for Banner. Horrible choice if he gets the part. I guess the director doesn't get that he isn't supposed to be a big bodybuilder type.

Purcell was one of my suggestions for Ben Grimm/The Thing. He would have been good in that role. But as the skinny, tormented Banner? No way.

Deep down i always knew this would happen to a Hulk sequel, people complained so much about stupid things in the first movie that there was nothing wrong with, well i hope those people are happy now.

By responding to those complaints Marvel signed a writer who doesnt care for character development or other such "unimportant" movie traits, a director who is the same and has never made an above average movie in his life and an actor with as much range as a broken down train.

I was told to stay away from that movie, so I haven't even seen it ;)

You were told well. Actually it isnt THAT bad, but compared to the first 2 Blade movies, its a joke.

It does seem like typical boardroom filmmaking, if true, doesn't it?

I don't care, though, I'm still gonna see it. :hulk:

I would agree. Purcell looks way too prototypical Hollywood leading man to play a scientist with deep seated repression issues from life ****ting on him.

I agree with you but Bana didn't exactly look like a geek to me either.

I can get behind this choice.
