How many other Double 0's have appeared or been mentioned in the Bond films? 006 was in Goldeneye, and i loved the team up of 006 & 007 at the start. Would anyone else like to see anymore team ups with other 00's in future Bond films??

Apparently there are nine 00 agents, as seen in Thunderball. There are nine chairs and Bond takes the seventh. Seems to occur again in The World is Not Enough.

002: Bill Fairbanks, killed by The Man with the Golden Gun (though not shown). Bond finds the belly danger who uses the bullet as a charm.

003: Not named, Bond finds his body at the start of A View to a Kill

004: Killed at the start of The Living Daylights by the KGB asassain.

006: Alec Trevelyan in GoldenEye.

008: Bond mentions him when it looks like Goldfinger may kill him, and M says 008 may replace Bond on a mission in The Living Daylights.

009: Killed, dressed as a clown, in a superb sequence at the start of Octopussy.

Did'nt 009 put the bullet in Renards head (off screen) in The World is not enough???

I haven't watched The Living Daylights recently, but I'm not sure who was the first Double O agent to be eliminated from the exercise at Gibraltar. 005 perhaps or 008 as Kevin mentioned?

I loved how they made 008 the "straight and narrow" james bond that followed orders. Almost making him a rival to bond heh

"oh 008 did this better"

"you should listen to 008 bond"

I think 007 should team up with 008, that would be interesting.....

I dunno....I always liked keeping the 00's seprated a bit......keeps the whole 00 agency thing a bit more mysterious.

Then again, with that.....people might assume the other 00's are just James Bond clones or something. So, showing them together could further emphasize that Bond is the best.

I dunno....I guess I'm kinda on the fence on this one.

The two 00's with 007 on Gibralter are 002 & 004.

Yeah but the way I see it, it was the replacement after the other 009 died.

There you are, my friend.

Hope that helps.

Oh, and to answer your second question:

I think it would really cool to have Sean Bean reprise his role as 006 in a new Bond movie with Craig. I really liked the character and it would be nice to see them together from before 006 turned evil.

I wondered why 001 has never appeared or been mentioned in a movie, is 001 the best becuase he's got 1 in his title. Ive often wondered how they require the 00 number in the first place, obviously Bond became 007 because i would assume he was replacing a 007 who had just died.

So far the only 00s still "alive" are 001, 005, 007 and 008. Unless there is a 0010.

Yes but surely 002,003,004,006 and 009 have been replaced?

When one 00 is killed, they get replaced.

The World is Not Enough told of how the recently-recruited 0012 (who was permenantly stationed abroad) was murdered by Renard. We see his photo in the beginning of the movie.

Every available 00-agent at the time of the film is at the meeting in Scotland, one of which is a female.

009 (obviously not the same one as in Octopussy) was the agent who put the bullet in Renard's head, and during this film he is "In the far east, on an assignment"

They have been. 002 has been seen twice- firstly killed by Scaramanga, secondly killed at the start of The Living Daylights.
009 was killed in Octopussy, and a later 009 was frequently mentioned in TWINE.

002 Was not killed at the start of The Living Daylights it was 004. 002 was just shot by a paintball gun.

I don't remember a 0012 getting mentioned in TWINE,Where abouts in the movie does this take place??

His '00' might not have been named in the film, but it's in the novel definitely. When Bond is in the Swiss bank he demands to know who killed the man in the photo, who's 0012.

I'd love a team up, it would only highlight the danger of SPECTRE if it took eight other James Bonds just to kick some ass.

Remember the brief Jack / Tony team-up in 24 series 4. That was awesome, as was the opening in Goldeneye.
