Double Layer DVDr

A while back I got a small Memorex Double Layer DVDr bundle. They did not work at all & I checked my Computer & even checked Nero Compatibility & my Computer does indeed support Double Layer DVDr. Would it be worth it to try another company like Philips & Memorex just sucks ?

I had a lot of trouble with memorex dual-layer dvdrs...out of a pack of 10 I think I got one that didn't mess up at the transition or soon after.
Verbatim dual-layer discs are pretty much considered the best by most people. I have had very few problems with them.
