Iron Man Downey Jr as IronMan sweet

I think Caviezel would have been the better choice, but I still think Downey will do fine.

Please, let's not go to the lowest common denominator here. There were several qualified actors that were thrown around in regards to Iron Man, none of whom were teen-bopper pap. Among them:

Jim Caviziel
Ethan Hawke
Mark Ruffalo
Billy Crudup
Eion Bailey

You gonna tell me that none of those guys would do a great job? And all being younger than Downey, that they wouldn't be a better pick in terms of a franchise? I'm not doubting Downey's acting and the level of talent he possesses, I'm cautiously optimistic about this choice. But let's not act like he was a sure-fire pick, the only credible actor that would fit the role of Iron Man.

Mark Ruffalo I thought you wanted your Stark GOOD-looking, not normal, slighty puffy-looking!
Billy Crudup M'eh - I can't tell him and Caviziel apart.
Eion Bailey Haven't seen him.

If you're that picky about it, there's no way I can understand how Downey is "just right" to you. He's too short, not in the shape Tony is depicted in, and not as conventionally attractive as Tony has always been depicted. While no one expects Tony to walk off the page, any of the actors I mentoned are a better physical match for Tony Stark than Robert Downey Jr.

So I guess I'd much rather have a "skinny", "skeazy", "puffy", or unknown Stark than what we have.

All of the actors except Ruffalo. I do not find him to be actractive at all.
