Bandai Namco has announced the roster of characters playable in the Dragon Ball FighterZ open beta.

The following 11 characters will be playable:

• Nappa
• Vegeta
• Goku
• Piccolo
• Krillin
• Cell
• Android 18
• Frieza
• Beerus
• Kid Buu
• Gohan (Adult)

The Dragon Ball FighterZ open beta will run from January 14 at 12:00 a.m. PT / 3:00 a.m. ET / 9:00 a.m CET to January 16 at the same time. Users who pre-order the game will gain early access to the open beta on January 13, also at the same time.

Dragon Ball FighterZ open beta download: PS4 and Xbox One beta client now available

The Dragon Ball FighterZ beta client is available to download now for PS4 and Xbox One.

You can access the download page directly on your console by searching for “Dragon Ball FighterZ Open Beta” in the store or by redeeming your early access code, if you have one.

On Xbox, you can also find the beta client on the desktop and mobile version of the Microsoft store.

Thankfully, the file is a modestly manageable 2.4GB on PS4 which shouldn’t take up too much precious hard drive space.

Don’t get too excited though, if you start the game up now it just fails to connect to the network.

The Dragon Ball FighterZ beta starts at 8AM GMT (3AM EST, 12AM PST) on Saturday January 13 for pre-order players and the same time on Sunday January 14 for everyone else.

The final playable character in Dragon Ball FighterZ is the game-original Android 21, the latest issue of V-Jump reveals.
While Android 21 generally wears a white lab coat and has a human-like appearance, she seems to transform during battle. Playable Android 21 has long white hair and pink skin. Despite being an Android, her appearance is entirely Majin (even down to loving sweets). In addition to being a scientist with a superior intellect, Android 21 seems to be shrouded in many mysteries.

• Speed: A
• Reach: S
• Technique: S
• Energy: B

Android 21’s special move, “Tasting Cut,” drives forward and grabs the opponent to relentlessly absorb their energy. She can then use the skills of the opponent she absorbed, such as “Kamehameha.” If she absorbs Krillin’s energy, she can use “Solar Flare.” In this way, the more you know your opponent’s characters, the more useful Android 21 will become. Her Meteor special move, “Hungry Time,” turns the opponent into a macaroon and she ecstatically takes a big bite.
