A review thread where only positive reviews are welcome? Oy

There are already positive and negative outlook threads

Sorry but this thread makes no sense.

If you are a "true fan" you will "hate on" this movie.

Therefore, this thread is an oxymoron.

Sorry, but the film blows. Please don't give Fox your money. It will only encourage them to do the same thing over again.

I hate you all.

I love dragonball because it's I guess about an underdog beating the odds every time through limitless will power, something I can identify with for reasons I'm pretty certain the mods have figured out by now...

It's even more relevant to me now in life since I'm learning to be independent and ****, which is hard stuff. Money is EVERYTHING in this world, damn...

Well anyway, I'm beginning to get angry at the way some are sadistically enjoying nitpicking the hell out of this movie as if there's any point to bashing it further than it already is. If a positive review thread would allow a different point of view a chance to be heard, I'd personally welcome it although I've been here long enough to know one side usually dominates the board and squashes any differing views since I guess we don't have lives or something like that... heh.

Here's my positive review and ****:

Well I finally saw the movie I've been waiting a long 7 years for. To start this off, I started watching Dragonball Z back when most here did, right around 1999. I was in 8th grade and a friend got me hooked on the show. Maybe it ruined my life, I don't know, but it did have some positive effects. I learned to draw freakin sweet goku poses and although I didn't know exactly what I was doing, kept in pretty decent shape throughout my crappy teen years cuz goku did and goku's cool.

I'm an old man now, too old for this kiddie nonsense, but oh what the hell, I'll give it a look for old time's sake. And what a sweet ass movie it was. This is the antithesis to last years speed racer. Whereas that movie tried to be some kind of 2001 a speed odessey and took itself way too seriously as if it didn't have a kid and monkey running around eating candy, DBE knows it's a farce and doesn't care what anyone thinks of it. I like that. Very American.

The movie's essentially about Goku finding the balance between his yin and yang side. No one on hype will notice this thematic undercurrent since they're too busy hating it, but it's there. Goku constantly has to hold himself back until he finally figures out how to control himself in the end and lets piccolo have a taste of his super saiyan power that we'll likely see more of in the sequel. Will there be one? I believe so... It's a good movie, not a great one. Worse movies have gotten sequels (I'm looking at you transformers.) but with Speed racer bombing and Paul Blart succeeding, there's no way to know how things will go. I'll be there on April 8th, celebrating my birthday with the cartoon that made me in to the oddball I am today. **** you if you don't want to come.

DBE gets a 7 kamehamehas out of 10!

I would like to point out the that the 24 year old "old man" didn't say one thing about the butchering of the story/characters/relationships from the original source material, the horrible acting on ALL accounts, the worse than Bourne 2 camera direction during fights, short length,
inverted Kamehamehas
(at the end), lack luster make-up and costumes, CHEAP
and I MEAN CHEAP!
CGI for the Dragon, etc.

If you actually saw the movie, you would know that this is seriously a bad movie without relating it to DB at all. I know you will end up trying to make an excuse about me being a fanboy or that the negative attitude crushes this board, but in reality, no one is saying good things about this movie because its
NOT A GOOD MOVIE!
Even the official website has to monitor their threads because bash threads are being started all the time pointing out what a crappy job Fox did with this movie.

I pray that you do not spend any money watching this film. If Fox makes a sequel to this piece of *****, then it will be a sad day. It is not hard to tell that they basically gave the director $20 and a soda and said "do your best because we are going to cash out on the minds of little kids on this movie without putting any actual money into it!"

....:csad:

....I wanted this movie to be good so bad. Transformers isn't THAT bad, but it could have been so much better. Thundercats is going to visually be just like Beowolf. X-men has grown to be its own crazy universe where everyone got in a room and read the comics and then said "f|_|ck all!" Then Dragonball: Evolution comes out and...sigh. At least they finally got Batman right.

There are plenty of underdog beating all of the odds movies out there that are better then this :o

everyone has a right to their opinion and if you truly think that DB:E is a better movie than Transformers then my opinion is that you're crazy.

This thread is pointless. If you can't deal with others opinions than lock your room and talk to yourself. I thought the movie was awful as a film on its own merit. I can't compare it to the show or comic as I am not familiar with either.

Too true.

Everyone i know from ages 8 to 52 who has seen TF's loves it, it's a great entertaining film with great efx.

DB on the other hand is not, i really wish it was on TF's level but unfortunately it's not even worthy of the steam from Bumblebee's piss.

Transformers was bad, but at least it had some entertainment value. This movie has none at all. Some times I can't even tell if half the people defending this garbage are ****ing around or being serious. This thread is a joke as well.

Do you want to see a magic trick? :brucebat:

Alright dawg, I'm not 24. I won't disclose my age since that's not important. What is important is how awesome this movie was, man. I'm guessing you saw the bootleg same as me. How can you judge the final film on a chopped up, poor quality bootleg? Even so, I think it's a good start to the franchise. We have to remember dragonball's an extremely flexible *anything goes* kind of story. I don't mind not having talking pigs and cats and dinosaurs, maybe others do, to each their own.

I enjoyed it in a "damn, I'm bored, let me just sit back and watch a ridiculous jackie chan movie" kind of way. I'm sorry for those of us here who've forgotten what it's like to just chill and watch a silly movie every once in a while... those were the good ol' days I guess. Now every movie has to be picked apart as if it was some kind of science experiment. sigh...

you're right, we should stop being so critical by judging movies as good or bad. we should just accept anything that's given to us and always be ready to lower our standards so we can enjoy it.
