Hmm, not the most stellar of animation credits. For a production that intends to go for a worldwide commercial theatrical release, I get the feeling it isn't going to look so hot.

But as alway, I hope I'm wrong and the entire thing turns out to be worthwhile.

I'm not too fond of the actors voicing these characters but it seems cool

I disliked the Dragonlance books, but this movie has certainly got me interested. I hope it's a more atmospheric, earthy style animation like Ralph Bakshi's fantasy work (but with modern production values, of course).

Kiefer as Raistilin is absolutely brilliant voice-casting.

I am intrugued...Simply put, I dont know most of the names...
But alas, I reserve all judgement till I see it.

Raistlin Majere
Kiefer Sutherland

Z0MG!

Anyway when I was a kid I loved these books, simply put Dragonlance Chronicles kicked ass! As did the Dragons of a Summer Flame and Second Generation adn then the War of Souls trilogy! It's perfect for fun animated adventure...

Three things sold me
Kiefer Sutherland
Lucy Lawless
Michelle Trachtenberg
I will definantly buy this.

Seems like all anybody's focusing on is the cast of voice actors. Nobody seems to notice that the director and animation house have only worked in television animation.

I haven't seen any animation yet, so I'll judge it when i see it.

There's now info on the official site.

It looks like traditional Animation and it's set for a wide release sometime in fall 2007.
Here are some images of the characters.

Here is an actual shot from the movie:

I couldn't agree with you more on there being subpar animation for a worldwide release. I really thought it would look better. It does not make sense for an animated movie with an all-star cast to have third rate animation. I just hope this does not keep it from being made in to a live action movie someday, which is what all fans really want.

only one ive read was Dragons of Summer Flame and that book was freaking awesome

I CANNOT wait!!! If it's well animated I will be in heaven. I've always enjoyed the Dragonlance series MUCH more than the LoTR's series.

Unfortunately, that's all we're seeing these days.

BUMP!
Come on people!
Where's your excitement?!

It's a direct to dvd film made by a low-end animation studio from idea. :/

I like the designs I've seen so far, but I still have mixed feelings about Sturm's helmet missing its horns.

With Fantasy films an all time high i would have prefered a live action film. And if your doing a animated film. Make is 3 Deemtional but rated R version of Shrek. Watch Zemeckis CGI Beawoulf in 2007 and you'll see what i mean. There can be tapped an audience here more so then the newer fantasy books. Old fantasy trilogies like Rings and Narnia tap the well better. Dragonlance could have this gold in live action or a CGI film.

i don't see anything wrong with the art pics i've seen here what are you complaning about?

Are their plans to do a trilogy? It only makes since since there were three books. If not, I am guessing they are waiting to see the response for the animated version before they do a live-action movie.

If they do a live version all i can say is 'Peter Jackson.'
