Drama series based on comic The Blacksmith in development at NBC

The graphic novel The Blacksmith is being developed into a drama series over at NBC. According to Deadline, director Jeff Wardlow (Truth or Dare) is adapting Malik Evans and Richard Sparkman’s tale of high-tech espionage for the small screen.

Blacksmith follows Alex Malloy, a man known in the intelligence community for building high-tech weapons for U.S. government agencies. Eventually, he discovers some of the files containing his weapon designs have fallen into the wrong hands, so he sets off on a quest to recover the files before his weapons are used for the wrong objective.

I've never heard of the graphic novel but the simple concept could deliver a cool action show.
