Before he became involved with Iron Man, I was thinking that given his track record, his care for the material and the great balance between light and darkness for a children movie like Zathura, John Favreau would have been a perfect replacement to handle the Spider-Man franchise after Sam Raimi leaves. Now that is out the window. Nevertheless you would need somebody who will be willing to spend some time for 3 big movies and have the right sensibility to portray spidey and his Universe right. So no Michael Bay and all these slam-bang-thank-you-mam types.

But anyway, I do think Raimi would come back for a 4th, but I think that would be the entire cast and crew's last. However, if for some reason he didn't come back for 4, I'd have Peter Jackson.
