Haha I wasn't even around then!
Actually the 70's were better than today if you can believe it 10 cent candy bars, 25 cent to 50 cent gasoline (no foolies) I forget how much sales tax was in california 2-3 cents prob, Schools supplied pencils, papers, field trips, I actually WANTED to goto summer school (if you can believe it) Cuz it was just like "show up" for credit and had games, and models to build and stuff
But also remember there was no home computers, Nintendo, Xbox, cell-phones, home video games, arcades were only pinball machines, and so on - so this is way more Sur-real than what you are describing
And if you want Su-real when you get about my age - you're going to say things like "DUDE" we used to have X-box, cell phones, etc etc - And the new generation will say things like "wow did you guys live with dinsaurs too!"
especially considering virtually everything you know now will be obsolete at that time for all new stuff - remember Betamax? the predecessor to VHS and the full real videos before that (like movie reels)
This is the rite of passage - all your toys always get to be called "Ancient"
