The rules:
This is one of two threads containing matches.
These threads will be in use for 7 days. Days 1-4 (Oct 12-15) are strictly setup time for owners to post their battles, plead their cases, tell us their team’s strategies, breakdown the match ups, and do whatever else they can/want to do to try and convince you that their team would pull out a victory. Please, let the owners do this on their own with no help. Debating cannot begin until both owners post battles.

On Day 5 (Oct 16) I will post and tell everyone that voting may begin. Any votes cast before I open voting will not count. Look over the matchups and read the strategies, and take into consideration how in-character each character is. Afterwards, use your best judgment to decide who you think has the best chance to win the match. (Note: The length of a writeup is at the discretion of the owner. Do not punish owners just for having a shorter writeup.)

To vote, post the team names you think will prevail in each match. Remember to vote for all matches or your vote will not count! The teams with the highest vote total at the end of the 7th day (Oct 18) will get a W while the other will get an L. (Equal votes will result in a tie.)

The Gathering:
In a flash of light, five people appeared in the uninhabited Kryptonian city in a bottle. Confusion erupted, as one would expect, as not only did no one recognize anyone else, two of them had lost all their powers. Angela Spica, after a few tense moments, finally brought everyone's focus onto herself. Having been through this ordeal many times before, she explained what was happening. They had been chosen, and were expected to fight alongside each other. No one she had met had ever figured a way to escape, or even figure out who it was that put them into the situation. What they had figured out, very quickly, was that teamwork was a necessity. At times, the other teams had been stocked with psychopaths, or men with calculating, evil minds. Their best chance of survival would be to work together.

As they introduced each other, Angie convinced them to allow her to equip them with extremely tiny machines that would grant them what she called radiotelepathy. The alien among them, R'amey Holl, was most relieved when the implants began to work. Having been bereft of her telepathy had been nearly as devastating as sudden blindness or deafness would have been to the others, and the simulacra was a comforting, if limited, replacement. Worse was that Angie could not explain why she and the man known as Flash had lost their abilities. That had never happened before.

Still, as they began sharing knowledge, including what powers they would bring to the inevitable fight, suddenly knowledge of their opponents appeared (for lack of a better word) in their minds. Suddenly, they knew the names and vague descriptions of their opponents and their powers. Along with this was the knowledge that R'amey and the Flash would have their powers returned to them the instant the fight started. This was no comfort to the Flash, as it appeared that they would have to face almost an entire team of people whose powers centered around super speed. Looking at his team, being the only speedster, a sense of impending doom crept across the radiotelepathic network they had set up.

It was at this time that Mother One, the cyborg who had remained mostly silent since their arrival in the city, took charge. Strategy, she asserted, along with their own formidable powers, would most certainly make up for the speed advantage their opponents would have. Taking over now, she directed Angela and R'amey, whose wings still allowed her flight, to survey the city and transmit via radiotelepathy the locations of any large, open spaces or usable vantage points. When they took flight, she stayed behind with Flash and Spiderman, highly interested in the finer details of their abilities.

After an hour, she had chosen what she thought was the best place to set up: a building near the outskirts of the city, only two stories tall, with a slanted roof that gave one a very unobstructed view of the nearby streets when standing at the apex of the roof. At Mother One's direction, Engineer set to work. Mimicking the tehchnology of two laser pods mounted on the cyborg's shoulders, and marrying them to sensors of the same quality as the internal sensors on the Carrier, she and several automated duplicates moved among the surrounding buildings in a perimeter, setting up laser turrets disguised as perfectly as possible to look like they were simply part of the architecture. In an even wider perimeter, she laced the streets, walls and alleys with clusters of nanomines, also keyed into further groups of sensors, to explode whenever an unidentified body approached at speeds exceeding thirty miles per hour.

When the Engineer had finished her prep, the team gathered on the roof, and met in a virtual hive mind created by Angie. As their bodies rested, they fought and trained together, the virtual world allowing even R'amey and Flash to manifest their true abilities for the purposes of the exercises. For hours on end, they practiced and drilled, ran through Mother One's plans, and any variations the others could come up with. They ran through every scenario any of them could think up, learned from their mistakes, and tried again. In spite of the fact that they were all seasoned fighters, they all knew that a dozen or so hours of training, even non-stop, was not ideal. Still, they comforted themselves with the thought that the other team, at least, would not have a resource such as this in which to train so hard without exhausting their bodies.

With only ten hours left before the fight would start, they all left the virtual world, mentally exhausted while their bodies were completely fresh. Taking their rest in impromptu air mattresses provided by Engineer, each one drifted into unconsciousness in spite of the imminent trials they would face.

Nine hours later, Mother one woke the rest of the team, having been completely refreshed with only a few hours of sleep due to her cybernetic nature. As the team stretched, awoke, went off to search the nearby buildings for facilities to tend to biological needs such as hunger, several duplicates dispatched by Angie made last minute adjustments to the sensors she had seeded amongst the city and surrounding buildings, giving them heavier shielding from heat, impact, electromagnetic fields and radiation, etc. Not only would they alert the defenses she set up, they would also be monitored by Mother One herself.

As the battle swiftly approached, the team set up. Mother One and Spiderman made their way to the apex of the roof, Spidey crouching next to her, with one hand resting on the back of her knee, holding her steady and ensuring they would stay together. Above, Angie hovered, extending a last line of defense in the form of a web of atom-sized knives around herself and the two below. Walter West and R'amey Holl took their places on the street farther below, Walter concentrating on sensing the instant the connection to the Speed Force returned to him.

While they waited below, tense but confident, Mother One linked up not only the input from the various sensors around the city, but also tied into Peter's precognitive sense and Engineer's personal sensors. One of the greatest advantages she had provided her Wetworks team was the ability to combine disparate information sources and disseminate them through the telepathic link their symbiotes granted them, allowing them to "see" what she saw, when tapping into spy satellites and the like. Just as they had in the virtual world, they would once again operate in a sort of makeshift hivemind, with Mother One as the hub. The remaining minutes ticking away, they adjusted to the new sensory input, as they had in the virtual world, and waited for the fight to begin.

The Fights:

R'amey and Flash versus Waverider and Flash:
The instant the Speed Force connection returned, Flash was off. Still, even as he took his first step, he used his connection to the Speed Force to accelerate not only her neurons, but her cerebral cortex and the rest of her brain. Now thinking at speeds nearly as fast as Walter himself, R'amey briefly lashed out at psychically at her swiftly approaching opponents, just to buy them both an extra moment or two, even as she guarded her ally's mind against intrusion.

The Flash sped for Kryad, phasing through buildings and making a bee-line, directed by input from the sensors by way of Mother One. As they sped through the city, Walter periodically stole the speed from one foot or the other, throwing Kryad off his stride, but not trying to stop another man with a powerful connection to the speed force completely. Still, it was an effective tactic. Each time Kryad made a move to attack, he found himself stumbling, allowing Walter to move in for hit-and-run attacks. As the battle stretched into whole seconds, Kryad was worn down more and more. Vibrating through the wall of a building, Walter stole the speed from both of Kryad's legs once again. Taking the extra time he had bought himself, the Dark Flash vibrated a long, thin piece of what appeared to be rebar from the wall he had just passed through, spun, and lunged at the Flash who was vibrating through the wall. Matching the makeshift spear's vibration to his opponent's, he pinned him to the wall he had just passed through, stuck in flux, unable to free himself and unable to BE freed, since the bar pinning him was still phased, Kryad writhed in obvious discomfort. Turning away, Walter sped off in search of his winged teammate.

In the fractions of a second after Flash gave her the gift of accelerated thought processes, she took to the sky. Scanning the entire city, she came across the mind of Waverider, intangible, invisible, and heading towards her at great speed. Deciding that now was the time for simplicity, she simply filled his head with every thought she could come up with. Every nightmare she could remember, pointless details from her childhood, all racing through his mind, filling his consciousness at unfathomable speeds, leaving no room for any thought of his own. The shining man streaked from the sky, suddenly tangible and visible, slamming through several buildings at high speed, but with a brain too muddled to even register the pain. Still keeping her distance, R'amey opened a black hole above him, depositing his semi-conscious form through a wormhole thousands of lightyears away.

Her thoughts slowing down again, R'amey glided towards her teammates, to monitor their progress.

Mother One, Spidey and Engineer vs Lady Flash, Liberty Belle and Surge:
This really doesn't need an extended writeup. Plus, I'm sleepy as ****, so barebones now:

The sensor tech Engineer copied is the same used by the Carrier to sense a speedster who had snuck on board, who was so fast he was "everywhere at once".The laser turrets Mother One uses can each fire a dozen laser beams at different targets, each beam being powerful enough to slice through the skin of durable super powered beings. None of these three can run faster than (or even as fast as) light, and with the major distraction provided by the nanomines seeded through the streets, dodging the beams will be nearly impossible.

Still, if they make it through that gauntlet by some MIRACLE, there's still the turmp card of Mother One, tapping into Spidey's brain via radiotelepathy who, because of their proximity, would sense attacks against her just as well as against himself. So she will literally know how they intend to attack her and be able to meet them with her own laser weapons. And, if by some freakish chance they can dodge THAT, there's Engineer's atomic knife web, which is basically invisible except for some random points of light hanging in the air. So, me Regs and Med are damn near untouchable, and have a horrendous multi-layered defense/offense combo.

Also, Lady Flash sucks. She's been in three panels, total (unless Ari can prove she was in Countdown, which I doubt), and cast ONE ****ty speed draining spell (****ty because it didn't work much at all, and not for long either), and showed no super speed herself. The only reason I didn't try to get her disqualified based on lack of page time is she's just so worthless.

As for the Uber battle, R'amey proved to be able to rewrite memories,a s well as protect other's minds from very powerful telepaths. She seems to specialize in using her powers at great distance, as I told Ari in the discussion thread. As for Flash pinning Kryad, he did the exact same thing to Wally West, and left him completely helpless until he decided he wanted to beat on him some more. Also, Walter did the speeding up the brain thing to Dr. Alchemy, except he sped up one part and slowed down the other as an offensive tactic. So, there ya go.

Winner by brutal owning: The Spanish Inquisition.

Prep-time

Two new faces join the 12 heroes, Psylocke and Black Panther. Both have no trouble adjusting to their new teams as family and former team members are stood amongst them.

5 of the 12 slip into a trance as information is fed into their minds.

‘You five are chosen by me to face your opponents. You have been in these situations before and therefore know how to handle yourselves. Get to know your opponents and your battleground….

Exodus - Mutant with powerful psionic abilities.
Adam Warlock - Super strength, durability, regenerative healing, cosmic energy, flight.
Vision - Synthezoid with super strength, durability, flight, energy blasts, intangibility.
Ambrose Chase - Localized selective physics distortion field.
Proctor - Super strength, durability, teleportation, energy blasts, Ebony Blade.

Battleground – BottleCity of Kandor’

Panther, Zauriel, Psylocke, Juggernaut and Replicant fall out of their trances and find themselves stood in the city surrounded by a giant bottle.

Panther is the first to discuss a strategy.

Panther – ‘Exodus is a powerful mutant. There are two amongst us who are immune to his telepathic attacks and thus making you the best option for fighting him…Warlock is a formidable opponent especially with the Soul Gem.’

Replicant – ‘Not a problem for me. I could disarm him from his gem and take him out faster than he could react. The bottle that the city is in makes a perfect tool for me to manipulate in my favour.’

Panther – ‘Psylocke, before you tackle Exodus with Juggernaut do you think you could handle Chase and Vision with me? Your psychic katanas and telekinesis will give you the upper hand with both. That leaves Zauriel to tackle Proctor; he is near invincible as are you. And both have indestructible blades. I’ll try help where I can with this battle also.

The battles had been arranged and the stage had been set. All that remained was the arrival of their opponents and the execution of the strategy.

To Be Continued…

Battles

Location – BottleCity of Kandor

The prep-time and strategy has been set and thus the battle begins. Chaos & Order are in the bottle and all that remains is finding one another.

Replicant opens a portal in the reflective surface of the bottle and jumps in. He throws himself to the other side of the city in seconds in search of Warlock.

Juggernaut began his charge through the streets in search of the powerful Exodus. Psylocke using her invisibility sticks close to Panther ready to face Chase and Vision, whilst Zauriel takes to the skies to find Proctor.

The first battle kicks off pretty quickly as Zauriel is knocked from the sky by a laser blast from Proctor.

Zauriel vs. Proctor

Zauriel spirals to the earth as the smoke clears from the impact of the blast. Proctor teleports above Zauriel and brings his blade down hard. Zauriel meets the blade with his own flaming sword. The swords ring off each other as Proctor teleports again. Zauriel controls his decent and circles the roof tops looking for Proctor.

Another blast of energy hurtles towards him only to be parried away by the heavenly blade. Zauriel sees Proctor in his sights and flies toward him. As he nears he opens his mouth and almighty scream is released. Proctor struggles to keep upright as the piercing sound begins to crush his ear drums. Proctor clutches his head and starts to release more blasts from his eyes. A lucky shot hits Zauriel in the face knocking him onto a rooftop.

Proctor’s perforated eardrum heals itself and Proctor teleports himself to Zauriel. As Zauriel gets to his feet, Proctor lunges with the Ebony Blade. Being a master swordsman Zauriel is able to block and defend any lunge and stab that is aimed at him. Proctor tries to get the upper hand by using his hand to hand combat and teleportation to land a few blows. He is successful in some but nothing that can give him the advantage he needs. So he begins to manipulate the chemicals in Zauriel’s brain. As he does the angel falls to his knees. Proctor turns his back as if to teleport away only to be struck from behind by the flaming blade. The blade cuts through his stomach and Zauriel launches himself over the edge of the building with Proctor clutched in his arms. Proctor, trying to concentrate over the pain, attempts to teleport but isn’t very successful. Zauriel flies towards the ground at an alarming speed. Before he can react or remove the blade Proctor hits the floor. A crater forms around his unconscious body.

Zauriel removes the blade and utters a prayer for Proctor before taking to the skies again.

Psylocke and Black Panther vs. Vision and Ambrose Chase

Panther, on foot, runs down alleys and back streets. He knows the vision would have no trouble finding him. He’s sticking to the narrow streets so as to use the surroundings for leverage and a means of escape should he need it.

As he turns a corner a shot rings out above him. Using his animal like reflexes he dodges to the left without even glancing and jumps onto the wall. His Vibranium claws digging in to hold his position as he scans the area. He looks around trying to find the origin of the bullet. As he does another three bullets come his way. They follow him up the wall. Panther realises these bullets aren’t aimed to hit him. A skilled assassin like Chase doesn’t miss, these bullets are trying to lead him, but to where?

Panther decides to go with it and lets the bullets lead him across the alleyway and into the centre of a large open space. Panther stood in the middle of a road watches as Chase leaps from the rooftops and using his gravity manipulation, lands in front of him. Panther heads to run to the right of his position to draw Chase’s bullets away. Chase however shoots one bullet to his left and three to the right. As Panther backs up on himself to dodge the three, the stray bullet, which has been held in suspended animation is released and clips T’Challa in his shoulder, knocking his grip on the Ebony Blade, and taking his balance. Chase walks forward towards Panther with both handguns held high. He empties two entire clips into T’Challa’s chest only to miss completely.

The bullets ricochet in all directions as they hit a wall of telekinesis provided by Psylocke. She drops her invisibility cloak and grabs Chase by the wrist. She spins him towards Panther, but not before slicing at his wrists with her energy Katana. The energy blade passes through the skin and ruptures all the nerve endings causing him to release his hold on his weapons. The skin is left completely intact. As he is thrust he stumbles and falls back against a wall. His left right hand is pinned to the wall by a well placed Ebony dagger launched by Panther.

Psylocke picks up the handguns using her TK and is all set to launch them when an ambush from the vision sends her crashing to the floor. Vision phases through the floor and heads for Panther. Panther swings the Ebony Blade at the avenger only for it to pass through his translucent state. Vision moves at great speeds and pummels Panther almost into submission. Psylocke gets to her feet and runs towards Vision, as she nears she drops her visibility and ducks. Vision sensing she is nearing spins and punches at head height. He feels his arm shut down as a psychic Katana passes through. The Ebony blade removes his other arm as Panther takes to his blind side. The two blades go to work on the android until his entire system is shut down. Chase is left pinned to the wall, slipping in and out of consciousness through loss of blood.

Panther feeling weak and exhausted from his own wounds and battle with Vision, remains out of the battle.

Replicant vs. Adam Warlock

Replicant moves fast with this battle. He has his target and aim and knows he has precious little time to act. Sliding through the reflective surface of the bottle, he nears to Warlock. Warlock senses his approach however, isn’t aware of where he is coming from. Replicant solidifies in front of Adam and absorbs the Soul Gem. He then returns to the portal in the glass. Warlock, somewhat depowered, but still a threat, begins to hammer at the clear construct. Replicant appears behind him with the portal still open. He reaches for Warlock only to be grabbed by the wrist. Warlock slams him against the city edge and begins slamming his fist into Replicant’s head. As he does Replicant slips into the reflective surface drags Warlock with him. He entombs him in the wall and leaves him there to watch the steady demise of his teammates.

Juggernaut, Psylocke and Zauriel vs. Exodus

The mutant awaits his foe. Stood proud arms folded hovering above the surface of the city. Zauriel is the first to approach, releasing a scream as he raises his flaming sword. His is hit midair by a blast of TK, knocking the blade from his hand. Juggernaut is the next; he runs towards Exodus and smashes through buildings. With the debris he launches it at Exodus. The bricks just bounce of the invisible shield protecting him. He tries to manipulate Juggernauts mind to no gain. The powerful mind cannot breach the special metal and skull cap worn by Marko.

Exodus comes down to his level and the two go to blows. Juggernaut hits Exodus’ shields every time, causing a devastating rippling effect as each blow connects. Zauriel approaches again swinging his flamed sword. The blade is thrown from his hand again. Neither can get a hit on him whilst his mind powers are fully functioning. Psylocke sees her chance and the only opportunity. As Exodus is distracted by Juggernaut and Zauriel she, in invisible form, sneaks up and slides a katana into the lower part of Exodus’s skull. For a few seconds his shields fall and Juggernaut and Zauriel begin a powerful assault on the mutant.

Every blow from Juggernaut is felt. The flaming blade slices at the flesh. Exodus swings his arm out at Marko in an attempt to return some of the attacks he is receiving. His arm connects with Psylocke’s jaw and knocks her unconscious, severing her link with the psychic blade; however Juggernaut and Zauriel don’t stop their assault. Zauriel uses his Sonic Scream one last time on Exodus. The pain runs through his ears and breaks all concentration. Juggernaut continues to throw his body into every punch until Exodus falls to his knees clutching his ears. As Zauriel stops, Marko grabs Exodus’ skull and hammers it into the ground. Exodus is taken out and thus leaves no further members of Chaos & Order to fight.

Heroes Of The New Age are victorious

Prep-Time

The stand around in the room, no words are spoken. Proctor stands near the doorway, his arms crossed, ready to draw his sword, untrusting of those around him. Ambrose sits at the table, cleaning one of his guns. His chair surreptitiously turned at an angle so he can quickly use his other gun on the others. Exodus mimcs Proctor's pose on the other side of the room, barely containing the rage he feels at not having access to his powers. Adam Warlock stands at the window, looking out at the city, having long since memorized the information being projected from Vision on the center of the table.

The information about their opponents.

Exodus: "So what is this? Some sort of test? A cosmic joke? Why take our powers?"

Proctor: "I still have access to my abilities." The look in Exodus' eyes could burn holes in Proctor...if he had his powers.

Chase: "Feels like a fight to me."

Vision: "I concur. The most likely reason for our current situation would be preparation for battle. Specifically, against these five."

Exodus: "So it is a cosmic joke. Told be a cosmically powered comedian."

Proctor: "I do not find it very funny either."

Adam finally turns around. "It doesn't matter if we find it funny or not. If we want to fight or not. Right now, we have no choice. So I suggest we stop complaining, and focus and preparing ourselves."

Chase: "Sounds good to me. Going into a fight without a plan is the quickest way to commit suicide."

Vision: "Logical, since our situation does appear to be our of our control."

Exodus nods and looks at the rest of his team. "Tell me what all your abilities are so I can decide the best way to-"

Proctor: "Who died and made you king?"

Exodus: "...Lord Magneto."

Proctor: "...It was rhetorical."

Exodus: "I do not care."

Chase finishes putting his gun back together. "Well, this is turning out great. Suicide it is, I guess." He slams the clip home.

Adam: "Bickering among ourselves will get us nowhere." Exodus and Proctor just ignore him. Chase just shakes his head and starts working on his other gun. Vision listens intently.

Adam decides to try another tactic and turns to Exodus. "What would you suggest is the first thing we must do."

Exodus considers for a moment. "The most important issue is to scout the area. I would..." He doesn't say 'if I had my powers'.

Vision: "I can do that quickly. My sensors are already gathering information about the immediate area. I will be able to record everything."

Adam nods. "What would you suggest, Proctor?"

Proctor looks at Exodus, then at Adam. "...Well, with scouting taken care of, we need to look at ourselves, and our enemies. To really work together, we'll have to know all our strengths and weaknesses. And share whatever we know about those five."

Adam nods. "We can do that."

Chase speaks up. "Then we examine our environment. Looks for anything we can use against the enemy, and anything they may use against us."

Adam smiles. "Gentleman, I think we have the makings for a plan..."

Battle-Time Part I

The Tech:
Vision's sensors give Chaos & Order a distinct advantage. Vision can use them to scout Kryptonian technologies, as well as the other team. And if anyone can build communicators for his team, it's Vision. No one on has sensors or communicators. T'Challa may be able to build them. But even if he can, that will take time, meaning Vision still has an advantage.

And using this advantage, Vision can scout out the best places and technologies during prep-time. And if this comes down to which team can better use Kryptonian tech, it's going to be Chaos & Order. While T'Challa may be able to figure some things out, Vision can quickly figure out how to interface with it and work with it from the inside out.

So, let's say this battle doesn't come down to the use of Kryptonian technology. Kandor isn't impressivelvy tech heavy since the population spent so much time on just surviving within the confined space, rather than advance its tech. It does have advanced technologies, but nearly as advanced as you'd find on Krypton or the Fortress of Solitude.

The Setup:
The best battle for Chaos & Order is Exodus against Replicant, Warlock against Juggernaut, Vision against Psylocke, Chase against the Panther, and Proctor against Zauriel. The trick is for the team to make sure that these matchups actually happen.

To force this setup isn't that difficult for Chaos. Exodus can easily take to the air to search out and find Replicant (especially if Vision uses his sensors to locate him). True, Zauriel would be in the air too, but Exodus can't attack him, and it wouldn't be wise for Zauriel to take the mutant on.

Similarly, Juggernaut won't be hard for Warlock to find. Besides, Juggy doesn't exactly blend in, much less hide.

And Vision finding Psylocke is another easy setup. Vision can fly, and fly through obsticals. As long as Psylocke is on his sensors, he can find her.

Ensuring that Chase and Proctor face off against the Panther and Zauriel is more difficult. Panther is an expert at stealth, and Zauriel can hunt from the air. Again Vision's sensors can come into play (remember, with communicators, he can keep everyone aprised of their opponents locations). The easiest way to draw Zauriel and Panther out is for Chase and Proctor to stick with Vision. Two heroes like Zaurial and T'Challa would not be able to ignore their teammate being outnumbered by Vision, a soldier, and a very deadly villain.

Battle-Time Part II

The Fights

Replicant and Exodus is going to be one heck of a battle. Yet Exodus can muster impressive psychic shields. And this would be able to block the powers of Heat Wave, Captain Cold, and possibly even Weather Wizard. Mirror Master's power to travel through reflections is useless if Exodus sticks to the air. So that leaves Alchemy's transmutation and Mirror Master's mirror rays. It might be possible to block the mirror rays, but not the transmutation. Of course, Exodus can go offensive. He has psychic blasts, teleportation, and could just attack Replicant's mind. Exodus wins this.

Baring use of the Soul Gem, there's not much Adam can do to Juggernaut. Adam could get into a physical confrontation, pushing against Marko (a fight he'd lose), only to use the momentum and pull Marko forward off his feet. Still, not much of a way he could physically harm Juggy. So it's either resort to the Soul Gem, or wait for Exodus, get Cain's helmet off, and attack him telepathically.

The Remaining Fights

The fight between the others. If Chaos & Order can wait for Exodus and Adam to finish, they should be able to finish off the other side. Until then, or if they can't hold them off that long, then it's up to the previously mentioned breakdown of the fights.

The Remaining Battles

Vision vs Psylocke isn't much of a battle. As skilled a fighter she is, Vision has no mind for her to attack, and no body when he's intangible. On the other hand, he can phase through her, fight her physically, or just blast her with energy.

With Proctor's teleportation, he can ensure that he can keep Zauriel engaged and avoid his sonic cry. And if they keep the battle in a confined area, it limits Zauriel's flight advantage. But it's not like Zauriel can really stick to the air and allow Proctor and Ambrose to double-team the Panther.

Ambrose has the training and abilities to avoid the Panther. He may not be able to stop him seeing as how his bullets wouldn't penetrate vibranium armor. But what he could do is freeze the Panther in place by controlling gravity or nullifying T'Challa's movement if he gets close enough.

And even if we switch it around a bit, Ambrose could do the same to Psylocke and Zauriel, possibly using his limited precog to help him. Vision could put up a great fight against either Zauriel or Panther as long as he avoids their swords. And Proctor is skilled and powerful enough to battle either Psylocke or T'Challa.

If any of these three are going to fall during the fight, it'll be Ambrose. But they don't necessarily need to beat their opponents since they'll eventually get help from the ubers.

However you stack it up, Chaos & Order will come away winners.

HOLY ****! I just now realized I forgot to post my writeup! OK, Khel, I see what you were saying. Wow, I thought I posted it. Hold on, I'll have it up in a sec.

Prep Time

The Spanish Inquisition sets up an offense/defense strategy, with Spider-Man, Mother-One, and Walter West poised to attack hard while R'amey stays back to hit the Deadly Dozen with telepathic assaults, ready to play defense should a fight come to her, with the Engineer also staying back to manipulate tech to her advantage.

The Deadly Dozen go a different route, setting up a full-bore defense for the first few moments of combat, with a delayed assault pattern ready for the moment Lady Flash breaks down the oncoming attackers. With Waverider's limited precognition, they're able to get a sketchy idea of what's coming, but they mostly rely on Lady Flash's intimate familiarity with superspeed combat and her years of experience as a speed mage.

Battle Time: Opening Moves

The instant that battle starts, Walter West breaks hard for the Deadly Dozen's position with Spider-Man and Mother-One trailing behind. However, Lady Flash is ready for the direct route. Having prepared herself for an intense opening to the battle, she unleashes her full power for a massive blast of kinetic-energy-sapping lightning. Walter runs right into the lightning and drops hard. It doesn't sap his speed like the Turtle could, but it stops him right in his tracks and sends him reeling. Before he can even get up, Kryad bashes him in the head and drops him again. All the while, Kryad attacks R'amey with superfast telepathy. She is very mentally strong, but Kryad's superspeed lends a vicious edge to his telepathy.

Waverider capitalizes on R'amey's difficulty by attacking her at lightspeed. She finds that it is all she can do to defend herself against this merciless superspeed attack, both mental and physical. Both Walter and R'amey are immediately at a distinct disadvantage. Kryad telepathically locates Engineer, Mother-One, and Spider-Man, transmitting their positions to his teammates.

Only seconds after her initial blast of lightning, Lady Flash lays down a series of massive, precision-targeted EMP blasts into the heart of the city and into several other points, laying waste to the Kryptonian technology and hammering Engineer with sudden, unexpected feedback. Lending herself superspeed, she makes for Engineer's position with haste.

Liberty Belle mutters her equation and takes off with superquickness for Mother-One's position. Surge takes off for Spider-Man.

Battle Time: Meds and Regs
Lady Flash vs. Engineer

With the battle between R'amey and Waverider raging overhead, Lady Flash ambushes Engineer. Angie struggles to recover from the EMP that hit her only moments ago, but Lady Flash has the element of surprise and the upper hand. Wave after wave of EMP and concussive lightning cascade through her circuits. The Engineer is just outclassed against her speed-mage foe.

Liberty Belle vs. Mother-One

Mother-One has some impressive defenses, but she's got nothing to defend herself from even reg-level superspeed. Her laser defense system is moot, as Liberty Belle is past its minimum range before Mother-One is even aware she is being attacked. Likewise, Mother-One is unable to engage Liberty Belle with her personal arsenal, because her opponent just moves too fast. With superstrength blows dealt at superfast speeds, Liberty Belle takes down her opponent posthaste.

Surge and Liberty Belle vs. Spider-Man
This is a less clear-cut battle. Surge has the tactical advantage because of her speed, but Spider-Man has years of training and experience from some of the best fighters in the game. Even with Kryad feeding her the location of her opponent, Surge is at a loss. Although she manages to wing Spider-Man several times with lightning blasts, the fight is always Spidey's. After disorienting her by hitting her with several large objects manipulated with his webshooters, he swoops in for the knockout, and delivers it—only to get a superspeed punch to the back of the head from Liberty Belle, and down he goes. The Authorititans are down a player, but the regs and meds are down.

Battle Time: Ubers
Flash and Waverider vs. Flash and R'amey Holl

The Deadly Dozen have a massive advantage already in the uber fights. Walter West starts out on the ropes against a mentally superior opponent. Even as Kryad also does telepathic battle with R'amey, Waverider blasts both R'amey and Walter from range at superspeed.

This is the Dozen's fight to lose, and they're not going to. R'amey falls relatively quickly against the two-pronged assault of the Dozen. Waverider, who is faster than any Flash, and Kryad can now devote their full attention to beating Walter. And if that isn't enough (and it is) Lady Flash and Liberty Belle will be on the scene momentarily to pitch in. Walter just can't stand up to that level of onslaught, and he goes down.

R'amey and Flash versus Waverider and Flash
Primary problem with how you write this fight as that you don't include my intervention from Lady Flash, and I wouldn't really expect you to, because it's your writeup. But that's why my guys are going to win, pure and simple. We throw Walter off within picoseconds, allowing Kryad to start off with the huge advantage and upper hand in that fight. Meanwhile, R'amey might be thinking fast, but Waverider's moving at lightspeed, and her mind cannot keep up with that, especially with Kryad constantly battering at her with all the strength of a human mind that has perfectly evolved into telepathic superiority. At the point where both R'amey and Walter are being battered physically and mentally to a point at which they can't defend themselves and are at a disadvantage, it's only a matter of time before Waverider and Kryad take them down, and not much time at that.

Again, what's key here is Lady Flash's lightning blast at the outset of the match. Another important aspect to consider is that Lady Flash and Kryad can also manipulate speed. I mean, you write this as if Walter can control the Speed Force with impunity, but he's up against the Flash of the 98th century, a time when human minds have evolved to perfection, and somehow Kryad's not going to figure out how to do the same? And then you have Lady Flash, whose very opening move is to nail Walter with speed robbing. The Spanish Inquisition is throwing up one really good speedster against a squad built for speed and built for being the best at it, so it's not really surprising that they're better at it.

Still, if they make it through that gauntlet by some MIRACLE
A miracle's hardly necessary. You're massively underestimating their superspeed. There's also the question of how fast the mines can even detonate. Sure, the sensors can pick them up, but can the mines explode fast enough? And if they can, my superspeed regs and my med are easily fast enough to dodge a detonation before it becomes deadly, and they simply can't be clustered too closely to where a teammate's going to have to be walking and fighting, because you can't predict your own moves well enough in battle to be able to avoid them. So the team only has to make it through a fairly small gauntlet before they reach a halo zone of safety that has to be fairly large, to protect the Spanish Inquisition's regs. Sure, the mines are keyed to targets moving faster than thirty miles an hour, but superspeed combat presents the possibility of a non-speedster moving that fast due to a punch, a tackle, a carry, or a body-slam. If the Spanish Inquisition's tactician is smart, there's a halo zone for the team's regs and meds to do their fighting in.

So she will literally know how they intend to attack her and be able to meet them with her own laser weapons.
She can't react fast enough. She just doesn't have the reaction time. It doesn't matter if she can sense it, because they'll beating the **** out of her before she can react.

there's Engineer's atomic knife web, which is basically invisible except for some random points of light hanging in the air.
Fine. Lady Flash attacks Engineer from a range in my writeup, because my characters know better than to just walk into whatever trap yours have set up.

Okay, I'll get to specific rebuttals later tonight, but let me just counter nearly everything Ari says about Lady Flash in HIS writeup with this paragraph from earlier:

Also, Lady Flash sucks. She's been in three panels, total (unless Ari can prove she was in Countdown, which I doubt), and cast ONE ****ty speed draining spell (****ty because it didn't work much at all, and not for long either), and showed no super speed herself. The only reason I didn't try to get her disqualified based on lack of page time is she's just so worthless.

So, yeah. Lady Flash is fail incarnate, as far as Speed Force characters go.

Because you know what's more reliable than actual comics? Khellendros' opinion.

Ohhohohohoohoo you little ****. Fine, I'll be posting the two or three scans that encompass the entirety of her on-page performance tonight. Unless, of course, you've found another appearance in Countdown?

I probably won't have time to finish reading these matches until late Saturday, but I will vote so long as wieg leaves it open long enough.

OKAY! First, the scans:

Ohhh yeah. Two pages. Oh, and she was on a cover, too. So, the one thing she did on page is drain the kinetic energy from a chick who, while fast, was not hitting anywhere near Flash speeds. She was actually STANDING STILL already. Also, not ONCE did she show anything resembling super speed. No super speed. No TRUE lightning. NO EMPs. So, I not only reassert that she is worthless, I say she should be disqualified due to lack of page time.

Jesus, do I even need to post rebuttals to the rest of his strategy after blowing this large a hole through it? Well, I will just to be safe.

Battle Time: Opening Moves
The instant that battle starts, Walter West breaks hard for the Deadly Dozen's position with Spider-Man and Mother-One trailing behind. However, Lady Flash is ready for the direct route.
Ell oh ell. Well, since I just destroyed the idea that she has anything resembling the ability to perceive the Flash moving at high end speeds, that renders that idea moot.

She is very mentally strong, but Kryad's superspeed lends a vicious edge to his telepathy.
So, yeah, before she could even cast it, he'd've phased through her, and started beating on Kryad. And the idea that he would bring along Mother One and Spidey is terribly unlikely, but I'll address that later.

Yeah, see, Flash knows the average Flash thinks faster than most telepaths can, so the idea that he wouldn't amp her most important weapon up, when it's so very easy for him to do so, is nuts.

Yeah. Wrecked. Moving on.

Lady Flash ambushes Engineer. Angie struggles to recover from the EMP that hit her only moments ago, but Lady Flash has the element of surprise and the upper hand. Wave after wave of EMP and concussive lightning cascade through her circuits. The Engineer is just outclassed against her speed-mage foe.
Bwahahahaaa. No EMPs, no lightning, and no chance in HELL she sneaks up on Angie.

Yeah, see, this would be a problem, if they fought the way you said they would. But that's pretty damned unlikely. We'll get into that later.

The Deadly Dozen have a massive advantage already in the uber fights. Walter West starts out on the ropes against a mentally superior opponent. Even as Kryad also does telepathic battle with R'amey, Waverider blasts both R'amey and Walter from range at superspeed.
I have to admit, I haven't read the single issue Kryad appears in. But the online bios I've read list his only telepathic feat as reading Barry Allen's mind, after he got super speed. I'm willing to bet R'amey is the more powerful telepath, but feel free to try and prove me wrong.

Now, to your rebuttals to my posts.

Oh God. It never stops being funny. Did you really think she could do all the things you said she could, or did you just expect me not to check up on it? Yeah, I didn't take her into account in any serious way because she's not worth any sort of serious consideration.

Err, the entire point of Walter's actions is that she now CAN keep up with him, mentally at least. And for a telepath, that's all she needs. Again, you hint at Kryad being a powerful telepath, but I'd love to see some evidence. Especially in light of the Lady Flash Contoversy.

Actually, he CAN manipulate it with impunity. He did so against Wally West. Seriously, you say Kryad is smart, but you didn't actually have him DO anything except use his telepathy and hit Walter really fast. And Lady Flash can only manipulate the speed of someone she can see, since there's no evidence she can cast the spell on someone from any decent distance.

The Spanish Inquisition is throwing up one really good speedster against a squad built for speed and built for being the best at it, so it's not really surprising that they're better at it.
Another team owner flat out said Walter was one of the best Flashes. I only brought one speedster because that's all I NEEDED.

A miracle's hardly necessary. You're massively underestimating their superspeed. There's also the question of how fast the mines can even detonate.Sure, the sensors can pick them up, but can the mines explode fast enough? And if they can, my superspeed regs and my med are easily fast enough to dodge a detonation before it becomes deadly, and they simply can't be clustered too closely to where a teammate's going to have to be walking and fighting, because you can't predict your own moves well enough in battle to be able to avoid them.
Of course they can detonate fast enough, that's the POINT of having such badass sensors, they sense the speedsters with enough time to detonate the mines in their midst. And, don't make me LAUGH. Liberty is the only one of the three who even has a remote chance at dodging the mine explosions. Surge is,w hat, a couple hundred miles AT BEST? I'd be shocked, SHOCKED if you could make a credible case for her even approaching the speed of sound.

Yeahhh, except I specifically said unidentified[/i] bodies moving at those speeds would be targeted. I've got my own Flash, to do otherwise would at least inconvenienced him.

She can't react fast enough. She just doesn't have the reaction time. It doesn't matter if she can sense it, because they'll beating the **** out of her before she can react.
She doesn't have to react fast enough. Because of their proximity, Spidey will know as soon as they decide to attack him or her (MAYBE Engineer, though she might not be close enough). So, all she has to do is send an electronic signal to the laser pods on her shoulders, which then can immediately fire off a dozen or more laser beams over a wide area. Like I said, the whole point of their tactics is to beat the speed they KNEW they would be facing with strategy.

Fine. Lady Flash attacks Engineer from a range in my writeup, because my characters know better than to just walk into whatever trap yours have set up.
More like Lady Flash walks into range of Mother One's lasers and gets crippled before she can get close enough to cast the stupid spell. Or Engineer just blows her head off.

Which brings me back to why it makes less sense for Mother One and any of my lower tier characters to come for yours. ALL my Mediums and Regs are chosen because they have wicked, insanely effective defenses, and they are experienced at fighting defensively. It makes more sense for these characters to dig in, fortify, and let the enemy shred themselves on their defenses before getting a chance to attack them directly.
