Well, he's been teasing on Twitter about directing a comic book movie for a few days now and the final tease pretty much confirms it.

Been wanting a Rogue Trooper film for years and now we have technology to do it justice. Decent choice for director, only hope it's an R rated (or 18) version and given the scope to be what it truly is.

Should definitely bring his Warcraft A-Game.

More 2000AD adaptions are welcome.

Where is that Slaine movie Fassbender was attached to about six years ago?

2000ad is by far and away the most untapped and best comic resource there is. Smart, satirical, imaginative, and full of characters that frankly piss on a lot of the ones who keep getting movies made from them.

The British are coming. The British are coming. Zarjaz!

I knew it would be something unexpected. Best of luck for him in that.

Garth Ennis wrote stories for them?

Yeah. Dredd should have been the start of it to be honest, so hopefully this is good and does well.

Thanks for the facts, IMDB. Anything else? :o :oldrazz:

Wow, wanted a Rogue Trooper movie for years. Loved the comics as a kid, got back recently after playing the remaster of the PS2 game.

Really hope they can do this justice as the comics are great.

I wonder if Sam Worthington is still attached? Can’t see it personally but you never know.

This. This. and This.

Considering the sheer amount of talent who have worked in Hollywood over the years, its baffling that we haven't had more 2000ad-centric movies.

Amazing news, by the way. Just amazing.

Such a good game, not played the re-mastered version, but the PS2 game was all kinds of awesome.

Jones echoes what we all think of Dredd and the lack of a sequel - maybe if RT is a hit, there's hope for Urban's Dredd. Hell, bring 'em all on - Strontium Dog - Statham for Johnny Alpha. Kristopher Hivju as Wulf Sternhammer

Thought's for RT lead casting?

So it's ''official'' official now...

Great news. Judge Dredd is the most beloved 2000 AD character, but Rogue Trooper is just as great a character and has an equally vast fictional universe.

Lloyd Christmas: "Have you seen Paul Anderson's 'Soldier'? It was a major influence on 2000AD's Rogue Trooper"

Having been a 2000AD fan for most of my life - and living in the quinoa and microbrewed blasted hellscape that is central London - I've been lucky enough at one time or another to meet a lot of the 2000AD artists and writers. I found them all to be extremely generous with their time, and friendly. I would be delighted if they started to get the Hollywood recognition they deserve for all of their work.

Awesome news! Loved Jones' tease there. Heh. He's definitely the one for Rogue Trooper, although Slaine or Nemesis The Warlock would also be something he could nail. Can't wait to hear more!

And the way things are going there will be a M.A.C.H 1 movie out before The Six Billion Dollar Man even starts shooting.

Agreed, both great characters that are ripe for movie adaptations. So happy we are finally getting a Rogue Trooper movie after years of speculation.

Which studio will summon the fortitude to produce Nemesis the Warlock?

Don’t. Just don’t. Don’t even put the thought in my head that somebody might make a Nemesis film. My nerdosity cannot take it. Can you imagine the reaction?

Glorious. It would be glorious.
