Sci-Fi Dune

It's not exactly like there's been a lot of competition, Denis. :o

It's still early though. Inside Out 2, Despicable Me 4, Deadpool & Wolverine, Moana 2, Joker 2, and Wicked all stand a chance at making more than Dune 2.

Finally re-watched this in 4K. Fantastic movie and still the years best for me.

It damn well better be, Zimmer broke up with Nolan because of it. :o

I mean, it did get both Zimmer and Ludwig Oscars, so I’d say it’s worked out.

You say that like it’s a bad thing when it gave us this!

Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm 100% happy we're in the universe where Zimmer didn't turn down Dune to score Tenet and Ludwig scored Oppenheimer. I just amuse myself picturing the two in a dysfunctional relationship.

Zimmer: Chris, are you upset with me that I can't score Tenet because I'm working on Dune with Denis?

Nolan: No, Hans. Why would you think that I'd be mad at you for choosing to work with someone else after we've collaborated for over a decade?

Zimmer: You sound mad.

Nolan: No, I'm not mad.

Zimmer: Are you sure?

Nolan: Yes. Go have fun with your space worms, Hans. It's perfectly fine.

Zimmer: ....Okay, as long as you're cool wit-

Nolan: I JUST THINK IT'S FUNNY HOW...

Just finished the first novel a week or so back.

Great stuff, but that ending is almost hilariously abrupt. I genuinely got afraid that my book was missing a few pages for a minute there.

Also, aging up characters is fairly easy to do. lol
I mean, if these actors were actually the age their characters are supposed to be, yeah, I would say that taking someone in their teens and trying to pass them off as 30-ish might be tricky, but… I mean, they’re all in their late twenties anyway.

There’s a release date but Villeneuve just won’t comment which one it is lol

I'm working on Rendezvous with Rama and that screenplay is slowly moving forward. Cleopatra as well. And Dune: Messiah. I'm looking forward to going back behind the camera, and we'll see what will be next.

Like I said earlier about Villeneuve's next project, he probably doesn't know yet himself. I'm betting it's a matter of negotiation and/or which script finishes first.

This should alleviate some of the fears I've seen here about Denis leaving key characters and developments out based on the second film's ending.

I mean, obviously it's going to tease Children of Dune. That's like.....I could have told you that

I'm just excited for whatever Denis comes up with this franchise. The first 2 movies were great.
