DVD wont play on DVD player?

I just got Secret Origin: The History of DC DVD: Comicshttp://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/105547-secret-origin-the-story-of-dc-comics-hitting-dvd-nov-9

and it wont play in my DVD player, I also tried watching my Tick animated series Versus Season Two DVD and it wont work either. But my Scott Pilgrim DVD worked fine. My brother has the exact same type of DVD player I do and he says sometimes certain DVDs wont play in his either. Anyone know why those DVDs wont work?

Thanks, I checked them out
As far as I can tell they are all Region 1:
United States, Canada, Bermuda, U.S. territories
They all have a world symbol with a 1 on it.

Would there be any other reasons?

A dirty dvd lens could be to blame so clean the laser.

hey mate... it could be a dirty lens in the player, yes, but if you know someone that has the same player and they are having the same issue... it's most likely that the player needs a firmware update. If you contact the manufacturer of the DVD player they will usually send you the update for free in the mail.
