It's getting almost less expensive to buy than to rent-!

Today I picked up Planet of the Apes 2-disc special edition for £3.99.

On play.com you can buy the Batman Returns 2-disc special edition for £5.99.

The Corpse Bride has only been on DVD for five minutes and you can pick it up for £5.99 in most places.

Most amazing, you can now find the Lord of the Rings 4-disc extended editions, the creme de la creme, for £9.99. I myself paid £25 for each when they were released, and even then they were worth it.

Blu-Ray and HD-DVD aren't expected to gain control of the DVD market until atleast 2010.

How much is £5.99 in American currency?

Yeah, there are SO many sales at times. Which is good because only after 1 month or 2 what was about 15 quid is now about 7.99 which is great. :D

I remember buying Wayne's world for like 3 pounds.

There's always some type of sale going on in the UK for dvd's. HMV are always having one, same with Play.com.

I suppose this is one of the reasons why things like Blu Ray and HD-DVD annoy me. DVD's haven't been round all that long and they are already looking to change it for something superior. Of course you have your techno ****es who will buy the latest tech, but I am perfectly happy with dvd's and then it's just a case of replacing your collection for something superior, which is going to cost a shedload in the long run.

Although, eventually they will become as cheap as DVD's are now.

i'm not complaning about dvd prices going down since i'm on a fixed income

cheap as chips indeed..

but i can get cheper dvds in the states,,Csi is released full season in the staets.. for only £26.99 however you will have to pay that for half a season here in england.

I like the 3/4 dvds for 20 quid deal.

Sometimes I take advantage. Or when Box sets are dirt cheap.

Thats what i love cheap dvd's epecialy on play.com

We've got some place called Music Zone I picked up the French Connection 1+2 special edition for £3.00, then True Romance and Layer Cake all for under a tenner!

Music Zone is a fantastic place for cheap DVD's. I got both series of Spaced, and Shaun Of The Dead there for about £15.

greedy bastard.

I probably would have more if my friends didn't borrow my dvds. or scratch them.

same applies to me though. :o

DVDs are getting cheaper... my favorite places are Play.com and CeX.

Just today I bought Open Range (amazingly underrated Western), LA Confidential and Mad Max. All together = £8

My DVD collection's around 105 now... but I'm worrying because I'm going to start buying HD quite soon and that means I'll probably decline in adding as many DVDs as I have over the last year or two (I average about 4/5 DVDs a month).

I still haven't used Play.com

I really need to get a debit card.

They do accept debit cards...right?
