Or... you know... maybe Woody Allen?

Would Thor and Luke Cage even meet each other? A Luke Cage movie could probably take place without mention of the greater Marvel Movieverse.

I'm not sure he's "Like" Cage; but he'd make a great "Luke" Cage! ;)

    Dwayne Johnson FTW!

Hollywood managed to make Downey black. Maybe they could do the same with Dwayne. :o

I'm just gonna say, if the rock was cast in this,I would actually be interested in a solo Luke cage film.

Movie magic made Vin Diesel the same height as The Rock in Fast Five, I'm sure they wouldn't have to do much tweaking to Hemsworth :)

Regardless, I'd love Johnson to be Luke Cage, but personally can't see us seeing Cage on film for a long time.

Hardly sounds like a Luke Cage announcement. I think he's just saying he wants to play the character.

If Luke shows up before T'Challa, I will s**t a brick. Literally. Then throw it through a window at Marvel Studios, and run away cursing them with my pants still down to my ankles.

It's already hard enough for me that Falcon is possibly appearing in TA2 before Panther. T'Challa should be the first black guy on the team, imo.

The Rock and Chris Hemsworth are both 6'4" tall - so there's nothing to worry about in terms of one dwarfing the other because they're both big dudes.

With that said, I wouldn't mind seeing The Rock portraying Luke Cage in the MCU. The only problem is that I don't see where he fits into the storylines they seem to be going with into Phase 3. It's pretty apparent that they're going the cosmic route for Avengers 2 and by introducing Ant-Man & Doctor Strange afterwards I'm not sure a Heroes For Hire movie makes a ton of sense.

While I think Luke Cage & Iron Fist would make a great pairing for a feature film, I don't see the characters coming to life on the big screen any time soon - it's more likely that they'd show up on the Agents of SHIELD show at this point, but knows for sure?

Okay, honestly guys, after GI Joe: Retaliation where he played Roadblock, he's plenty black enough for me. There is a frustration, a tension, in the fact that he doesn't always play black characters, that he's got this sort of racial metamorph thing going on, which is cool for him, but discomforting for those who need to put people in boxes (like myself)... but after seeing him perform as an explicitly black character, knowing that he's willing and ready to represent that part of himself, I'm more than okay with him playing Luke Cage.

But more than that, as I think about him as Luke Cage, and how he made GI Joe 2 happen - The Rock is someone who can actually cause Luke Cage to happen. Otherwise... it probably won't actually happen. I know, I know Marvel said his name 2-5 years ago a couple times. But those are films that, like Ant-Man, like Dr. Strange, will only happen if someone outside of Marvel makes them happen. While I love Terry Crews, and think he'd be great in an ensemble, even a duo. When it comes to headlining a movie, carrying a movie on just one's personality and charm... Dwayne can actually do that, well. I can't think of any other strong black dudes who can. Can you?

We probably all also thought that we should see Spider-Man in the big screen before Blade, but sometimes we just roll with it and enjoy the ride.

I just can't wait to see Rocket Raccoon on the big screen, before most of the DC heavy hitters.
