UGO reports that Dylan Baker confirmed last night at a Trick 'r Treat screening in New York that he'll be back as Dr. Curt Connors in director Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4.

There's been a lot of speculation that Connors will finally become The Lizard in the fourth installment, but Baker said that he had just gotten his first call about the film that very day.

The site says that Trick 'r Treat director Michael Dougherty ribbed him about "just appearing in the background," and Baker said that's what he'd be doing. It is, of course, unknown if Baker can say anything at this point, so it might be too early to take that as a fact.

Ever since Dylan Baker first appeared in Spider-Man 2 as Empire State University professor Dr. Curt Connors, people have been buzzing about whether we might ever see him turn into Spider-Man's scaliest foe The Lizard. Unfortunately, we don't have the answer to that question just yet, but UGO had people at the Walter Reade screening of Michael Dougherty's Trick 'r Treat last night where actor Dylan Baker confirmed he would be returning as Connors for Spider-Man 4, when asked about it during a post-screening Q & A. He didn't go into details about how big or small his role might be in the fourth installment, although it seemed like it would be another "background" part, rather than The Lizard taking center stage as the next Spider-Man villain.

Columbia Pictures is planning a May 5, 2011 release in conventional and IMAX theaters.

Yeah I know, that kinda irritated me too, but I hope its wrong OR their villain choice is so awesome that I dont mind.

I will be majorily disappointed if conner's is in this but the lizard doesn't appear. seriously what a waste. no villian will get me as excited for spider-man 4 as the lizard. c'mon sam, dylan has been in two moives let him take center stage.

I want the Lizard just as much as everybody else. However, I would be fine with a Lizard cliff hanger as long as the movie is good. If the movie is good, then I won't condemn it if the villain I wanted isn't in it.

As I said in another thread, this is awesome news. However, I wouldn't rule out Connor's becoming the Lizard in this.

If Lizard's not the villain, they better set him up for Spidey 5. Not some 'lizards in a cage in the background' BS either. I either want to see him with the "cure" or actually see him changing into Lizard right before the credits.

Too early to tell if Baker will be the Lizard or just a supporting character. But I wouldn't mind if the Lizard is not in SM4. As long the movie is good.

I love Electro and Mysterio but I am not going to lose all faith because they aren't in it.

I don't like those villains, lol. The only villains that I was ever a fan of, regarding Spidey, are Green Goblin, Venom and Lizard.

for me it was lizard and doc ock (loved LOVED SM2) I'm not bothered about the other spidey villians.

Seriously while I would slightly be disappointed if there was no Lizard I would love Electro,Mysterio or Scorpion.Spidey has the best rouge's in Marvel Comics and is tied with Batman with best Rouge's gallery in all of comics.

I think spidey has the best rogues (along with bats and the flash) but when it comes to individual villians there is like and 'LIKE'. villians like shocker or rhino would be cool for an opening credits take down but there is few I think are complex enough to hold an entire movie.

you could probably write any spidey villian to encompass an hour and half but I get the feeling you would be 'padding them out' with a character like the lizard you could fill a movie with him easily, showing the experiemnts, the transform, the trauma his change brings his family, his descent into lizard personality and the end game as he attempts to transform new york.

take for example shocker, you'd struggle to fill a movie with him.
A list - doc ock, green goblin, lizard, venom (although I HATE this character) kingpin

I like Two-Face and The Riddler far more than Ra's and Scarecrow but Batman Begins wipes the floor with Batman Forever so it doesn't mean anything at all.

Electro,Mysterio,Lizard,Scorpion even Carnage...if the screenplay does them justice and explores their past,their motivation and presents them as both serious threats and morally interesting human beings i'm fine with whomever.

Ok, I see what you mean.

Yes, alot of the villains couldn't carry a movie on their own. In fact, I think only Green Goblin and Doc Ock can do it.

I love most of the classic villains. Stan Lee had such a talent for creating memorable villains back in the day.

That was just a rumour. There's vampire movies everywhere. Last thing we need is them showing up in Spider-Man, too, when a more unique villain can be done.

I want Mysterio as the villain. Messing with Spideys head. Making him see his failures and troubles. Showing him the people he has let down and generally making Spidey hallucinating and pitting him against anything and everything. Showing Spidey the people who has died in previous films. Including the carjacker to Harry and making them say cruel things to Peter.

I know it was the Goblin who did something similar to this,but maybe maybe have Peters parents involved,but they turn out to be illusions or robots.

There is so much what Mysterio can offer. Robots. hallucinations. Monsters. Illusions. Turning gigantic. Framing Spidey. MATRIX VIRTUAIL REALITY ****!!!,etc.

You can get a decent story from this as well. MJ working on a movie,little knowing the special effects guy is a psychopath with a vivid imagination.

If he were to partner with someone, I would say the new Oscorp owner, Jason Macendale,AKA Hobgoblin. Followed by for number 5,having Oscorp developing new stuff for future villains.
