EA making System Shock 3.

wow, that game is going to suck!

oh and im still waiting for evidence, whf.

This has to be some kind of disgusting joke. I hope this thing gets canceled if that is who they've got to put this thing out :(

Evidence of what?

Edit: Oooooh, that you're a Nintendo fanboy. Well, you do a lot of Sony/MS bashing, and praise Nintendo relentlessly. That alone doesn't make you a Nintendo fanboy, but it sits nicely next to your worship of their IPs.

Look, a lot of people get into this "OMG you can't prove I'm a fanboy!!!" but the truth is, I don't have to. It's freaking obvious. You're a Nintendo fanboy and I'm not the only person who knows. Get over it.

I don't know why they gave it to the team who made "The Godfather", but apparently that team did a better job than the typical EA team. Still, I know they're not going to give us the "System Shock 3" that Ion Storm (R.I.P) or Irrational (now '2K Boston') could have given us. Sadly, EA's development frame of reference is very small and instead of going to talented independent studios, they give their great IPs to their crappy internal studios to work on.

Maybe it'll get stuck in development hell where it belongs, and 2K can grab the IP.

You mean like how "The Gray Project" was supposed to be EA's first game with a development time longer than 18 months, but then swiftly got cancelled?

Maybe. Still, EA can get some things right with this, or at least they know that they SHOULD be trying to get things right, but unlike "Command and Conquer 3," they don't have the original team.

I still can't believe they put "X Gon Give It To Ya" in a Bond game. :(

Absolute best case scenario, aside from them canceling it, is that EA manages to make a good looking game that totally misses the point of System Shock, but is at least a half-decent twitch shooter.

I actually predict that's what they're going for. I doubt the team has played System Shock 1 or 2 or knows the feeling SHODAN gives you or even what SHODAN is/looks like.

They'll probably take out all horror elements and make it like Halo where SHODAN is your side-kick and you're fighting "space zombies" and "robots" instead of "hybrids" and "the many". I doubt it will take place in a claustrophobic environment where there is obviously no easy escape (like a stranded space-ship or an under-water city) and instead take place in a futuristic city/military base.

And of course, the entire game will be in development for a year, meaning small levels without any detail at all and of course, the most contrived story of all time. Probably something like "find the super-hacker and them shoot him to death".

Actually, after I finish my 1 year program, I might drop some resumes at EA Vancouver just for the hell of it.

What do you want to do there?

You'd be a better game designer than anyone there I bet.

Anyway, it would be awesome if you were an industry insider.

I'd probably try to include hot Japanese chicks in EVERY game, so I don't know if you guys would be happy with that... :(

Seriously, it'd be great to just work in the industry, you never know I guess.

You would be a great producer for Tecmo.

"Boobs need to jiggle more before we ship the game aaaaaaand Hitomi is wearing too many clothes".

Yes... I can see it now.

That would be like THE dream job for Blas.

DAMMIT ITAGAKI! THE NIPPLES ARE NOT NOTICEABLE ENOUGH!!! :cmad:

That will be your segue into Mexico Gaiden where you're a Ninja from Chihuahua tasked with avenging his "La Bomba".

The women act like the "Life trees" in Shadowrun. So you gain health from standing by them, and more health the longer you do.

If they undress your maximum health increases.

Why aren't System Shock 1 and 2 available anymore? They should be on Steam or something.

Because they're both published by EA or EA owned Origin, and EA isn't on Steam (yet) because they haven't realized that their own service is inferior. It'll happen eventually though.

Are the System Shock games on EA's "service" though?

I didn't think they'd be such **** about it. I mean, EA's publishing The Orange Box and everything...
