Seems like your beef is with Marvel because they don't have to pay RDJ anything, they could recast the role if they don't want to pay him.
Seems like someone has a beef somewhere.......
Actors are going to ask for as much as possible and studios are going to try to pay as little as possible. If they can come to an agreement, they do. If they can't, they won't and each will go on their merry way. What an actor can "demand" is based entirely on what the studio thinks s/he is worth. If the studio doesn't think an actor is worth the money, they don't come to an agreement or, if they can make what they think is a better deal (all things considered) with someone else, that's what they do. If any actor is getting paid a boatload of money, it's because the studio thinks they are worth it. It's really not that complicated.
Chris Pratt is going to be able to demand a L000000000T of money (those 0s are going to be on his check) and I'm glad for him. If he demands too much, the studio won't hire him. Marvel probably has a pretty good deal on him right now and that's fine because he (evidently) entered into a contract with them. If an actor makes a ton of money, it's because they can.
This isn't personal.....it's business.
