The studio apparently waited till the last minute to do preview screenings of Eragon, which is usually not a good sign. This early review lambasts it pretty badly, and it has takes from both a guy who´s new to the book and big fans of it... http://www.aintitcool.com/node/30956

Well, let's see the review is on AICN and from a budding "author/screenwriter", sorry doesn't seem exactly credible to me. That being said, it's probably not gonna be that great of a movie, but I also wouldn't expect them to keep the pace of the book in the movie because the book does move very slowly.

Well, it could be a negative plant, just like there are positive plants, but there aren´t reviews on RottenTomatoes yet, which suggest they didn´t do a screening for critics, at least till the last minute.

From all the trailers and TV Ads....it just had that CRAP look about it.

Eragon ... lol.

Cheap LOTR ripoff is what a British guy called it on BBC. He was reviewing this movie and said : "If I had to choice to go see Eragon with my Children I'd rather let her see a Z rater horror movie instead then this piece of rubbish".

Cracked me up ...

I automatically thought of Dungeon's and Dragons from a while back when I saw this movie.

But part of me was half expecting to be surprised that it was decent.

Guess I don't have to see it. So hopefully I will see the Good Shepard.

I'll see it, mainly because Jeremy Irons, John Malkovich, Djimon Hinsou, and Rachel Weisz are in it.

Ok, now prepare for my forecast...

Eragon
Critics - 21%
Cream of the Tope - 14%

Nice.

:D

I doubt the reviews will get any better.

Well, I was going to see Eragon, but I'm slowly changing my mind. I don't want to waste my money.

The final product is the story of a young, poor, bizarre combination of Anakin Skywalker, Luke Skywalker and Harry Potter joined up with the female counterpart to Draco from Dragonheart. With the help of an Obi-wan meets Gandalf sort of mentor, he sets out to save the wizarding world and half of Middle Earth by using Elven magic to defeat the equivalent of Voldemort wearing Sauron’s Ring of Power and his right hand sidekick who is the perfect amalgam of Saruman, Wormtongue and a Balrog-riding Darth Maul. Oh, along the way he stops to save the love child of Arwen and Princess Leia with the help of Aragorn crossed with Han Solo.

The trailer for this movie was utter ****. I'm not surprised. :o

People let's remember bad reviews always doesn't mean bad box office numbers.

Humans have been doing that for millenia. What makes you think they will stop now?
