How old does the child have to be in order to be a "qualifying child"? At first, I thought that it was $300 dollars for each child (17 years old and down). On some places, I've read that the child have to be 16 or younger by December 31, 2007.

You probably have to have them claimed as a dependant for your 2008 Income Tax.
