I haven't seen Elektra in it's entirety. I kind of watched the first half hour and then skipped around the rest for a few minutes, before deleting the illegally ripped version from my comp (lol). However, I am a completionist, and do love my Marvel films. So I saw the Director's Cut DVD for 13 bucks and am wondering if it's even worth picking up, even for the special features mostly.

If you are a completionist of the Marvel films then yes get it. As a movie though, no. Unlike Daredevil, a director's cut of Elektra couldn't save that movie.

How about this hour long special feature dedicated to Elektra's comic book origins I've heard about? Does that pretty much warrant the purchase?

Elektra has a weak story, however it does have some good action. Elektra vs Kirigi was a really cool fight.

I would deffinetly recommend buying it.

Hmm...I guess I'll get it then.

Now...

How about Man-Thing? lol

Man Thing was pretty good for a tv movie. Agian not the greatest story but still ok/good.

DD's DC was purely awesomeness. Period.

The special features show you why the movie was doomed...and that's the only reason to see anything...

But do you really need special features to tell you that?

It was a terrible movie. I regret buying it everyday in my life.

Hmm...perhaps I'll wait for it to drop to like 5 bucks then...

13 bucks... hmmm... nah, that's like $12 more than it should be.

I swear that I had a post in this thread...I swear it!

EDIT: Oh, there's the other posts...weird...I clicked on it and only like 5 of the posts showed up at first

Well...looks like 13 bucks warranted a purchase, cause I said "**** it" and picked it up. lol

Oh well...this Elektra: Incarnations feature is GREAT, though.

I bought it but only so my Marvel collection would be complete (with the exception of Man-Thing). $13 isn't a bad price.

I actually saw part of the movie on yesterday morning. I watched the first half of it before I had to leave for work. It wasn't that great but I was anxious to see some of the fight scenes. I had to leave when things were starting to pick up.

There's some pretty cool action scenes.

I watched it in its entirety last night. The film feels like a mediocre action movie with an annoying kid stuffed in for emotional drama. At no point did I say "wow...now this is Elektra!". They could have easily called the title female assassin and "The Hand" anything else and it wouldn't have made any difference.

That's perhaps the biggest complaint I have. If the (absurd inclusion of the) dad and daughter had been removed from the script in favor of a more badass Elektra, I could have forgiven the generally poor acting, pacing, fights, and special effects. I'll admit, there were fleeting glimpses of Elektra in there...but they were generally shat upon by that obnoxious kid.

I guess my point is...that fugly little girl ruined the movie. I hate her and I hope she dies. lol

The film is probably worth a dollar or two...and that's being exceptionally generous. The special features related to the film are thusly worth a few cents as a result. Elektra: Incarnations, however, was absolutely great...worth at least, oh...5 bucks.

So, in total, the DVD is probably worth about a maximum of 7 bucks. So no, it wasn't really worth it. But hey, like I said, I'm a completionist. I probably could have waited for the price to drop, but I would have bought it eventually anyway...

The DD DC is an excellent movie.

Unlike the DD DC, I remember being annoyed after I bought the Elektra DC because it's basically the exact same movie. What was it, three minutes longer? It's still a frustrating waste of potential. They had a good cast, character and concept but lost their way in green smoke stupidity. Elektra has a good set up and good first half but is ruined by a fruitless climax and wasted villains.

I did enjoy the comic bonus feature.
