I'm going to take a guess and say it's the way they made her character look in the episode. Also, I've seen a couple of clips of her from the Cold Case episode (that's where the pictures are from) and she looks good. I like how you googled her name and searched for bad pics. I hate it when people do that.

Also,if She gets the role of Mary Jane than I think that Katie Cassidy would be a good choice for Gwen Stacy because she looks like Gwen,can act,and has worked with Elena on an episode of Melrose Place.

Of course they would "out their mark" on an adaptation. A film is compltely different from a comic. What works on page doesn't always work on screen. And on screen, it gives the filmmaker opportunities to try new things. i don't want to see the same exact things I've read a million times. I'll just read a comic for that. On film there's a chance to try something different. And it's worked alot.

Yeah but she's pretty good in both Taken and in that horrible Nightmare on Elm Street remake as well but I can't even count on fingers how many horror remakes she has played in,lol.

I'm also hoping Gwen Stacy will be in the movie

Would anyone be opposed to Ellen Page as MJ? Or is she too 'cute' and not 'beautiful'? i feel like she'd be a fantastic [especially Ultimate] Mary Jane.

Only reason I suggest this is because in this case you'd have a for sure guarantee on the acting ability. Not that I'm anti-Elena or anything, I've just never seen her act.

Ellen Page isn't the trimmest of girls. She's a bit on the short and stubby side, and apart from her role as Kitty Pryde in X3, she seems rather butch in personality most of the time. She wouldn't be a good MJ, ultimate or 616. If you're just after acting ability, how about Meryl Streep?
