Eli Roth and Bruce Willis to reboot Death Wish

On a scale of one to ten, how much is Bruce phoning this one in?

Would the 0 = phoning it in, while 10 = actual effort, or vice versa?

Hard pass. I loathe Roth as a filmmaker and we all know that Willis won't even try to be interesting

I mean...there's not much point.

We've gotten so many revenge movies how is this one going to be different. I assume it'll be gorier with Roth being attached.

And Bruce Willis...I love the guy. No joke, he's one of my top 5 favorites. But he's just done. He just doesnt seem interested in acting anymore. And we've seen Willis kill people with guns so many times before. I don't see how this can be any different or exciting from what we've seen 100 times before

Joe Carnahan was attached to this a while back and his involvement and the stuff he said had me interested.

I dont know...I think the only way to make Death Wish interesting is if we got an actor (or actress) who isn't known for being a bad ass.
Like Mark Ruffalo, yes Hulk is a bad ass character and he has done grittier roles like Collateral and What Doesn't Kill You (underrated), but someone like him it would be really cool to see nice guy Ruffalo turn into a darker and darker character

I liked the Death Sentence they did a while back with Kevin Bacon and James Wan, both of whom are superior to Willis (at least current Willis) and Roth.

I can't wait for Willis to be a dick on set and make Eli Roth's job difficult like he did Kevin Smith's on Cop Out (and to numerous other directors on other films in recent years).

This seems ill timed. Beyond the bland creative teaming of the two it would seem that, given our current climate of mass shootings, making a Death Wish movie isn't the smartest move.

I can't remember the last movie starring Bruce Willis in which it looked like he gave a damn. Willis has been phoning it in for years now.

Looper and Moonrise Kingdom from 2012 is the last time he gave a crap

Well, Roth isn't some journeyman. Even when the film will be crap, we'll probably get a "IT WAS FREE PIZZA" performance out of Bruce.

Vincent D’Onofrio Joins Bruce Willis In Eli Roth-Helmed ‘Death Wish’
EXCLUSIVE: Vincent D’Onofrio and Dean Norris (Breaking Bad) have joined Bruce Willis in Paramount and MGM’s revamp of the 1974 Charles Bronson film Death Wish, which was based on the book by Brian Garfield.

Eli Roth is directing the picture which follows a man named Paul Kersey (Willis) whose life is destroyed by a violent crime against his wife and daughter. Frustrated the bad guys were not brought to justice for the violence and degradation the thugs inflicted on his family, he starts hunting for the perpetrators himself. Roger Birnbaum is producing the film.

D’Onofrio, who has enjoyed a very successful career both in TV (Daredevil, the upcoming Emerald City) and film (The Magnificent Seven, Jurassic World, CHiPs), will play Willis’ brother in the film. Film/TV actor Norris is set to play Detective Rains. The film is set to into production on September 26 in Montreal and Chicago.

D’Onofrio is repped by UTA and Silver Lining Entertainment. Norris is repped by CAA and Industry Entertainment.

No way Willis can grow the proper mustache.

Ugh. Looks like Trump's wet dream of a movie... white man goes around shooting bad guys in Chicago, which is of course portrayed as a hellhole of gang violence.

I wish Roth would have made Thanksgiving. That's never going to happen now, after all of these years of putting out mediocre projects like this that aren't half as interesting, along with his attempts to "act" on film.

lol, this looks enjoyable. I may have to go check it out.

And wtf, I SEE SPIDEY got banned? when did that happen?
