Empire Magazine's April 2007 issue will feature an original Silver Surfer cover created by WETA, and in my opinion it looks.... FANTASTIC!

Here at Empire, we never rest in our attempts to bring you all the biggest film news first – and this month is no exception. The new issue of Empire has a limited edition cover exclusively designed for us by those clever boys and girls at Weta, celebrating the character that everyone is talking about from Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

Yes, that’s right, ol’ Norrin Radd, aka the Silver Surfer, is getting his moment in the spotlight, just beneath our cleverly co-ordinated silver logo. And it’s all thanks to Weta’s finest, who worked overtime and against the clock to get us our cover (thanks very much for that, guys ‘n’ gals) – note that our favourite baldie boarder is using the Power Cosmic as he flies, a first glimpse of that effect.

Awesome now where is the textless version :ninja:

In the words of The Torch, "Ahhhhhhhhhhh. That is coollllllllllllllllllllll". :woot: :wow: :hyper: :yay:

Now that's hot.

Hope they have a pic of the Fantastic Four themselves inside too. :csad:

Whilst the casting of Alba as Sue Storm still feels like a prank gone wrong, and the origin of Doctor Doom blowing all sorts of chunks, the sequel looks to be doing everything right so far.

Nice, and I shall rush out and buy copies on Friday ... but as usual no mention of Spectral Motion who designed the Surfer and created the suit that WETA just put a shine to. Let's hope they've given Spectral a nod inside the mag. And yes, I realise that WETA designed the cover, but still ...

That is one striking cover.
Nice find, Matt.

Nice. He's about to unleash the Power Cosmic on some poor fool. I wonder if the Invisible Woman can block that with her force field?

I can see the commercials now. She is stood with her forcefield up struggling to hold off the Silver Surfer's cosmic blasts, her nose starts to bleed then she reaches into a hidden pocket and pulls out a pack of Kleenex and proceeds to wipe her nose. All while she is still warding him off.

"Regardless of the danger, Kleenex will always be there to....keep your nose clean.*ba-dum-bump*"

Good use of shadows to eliminate the Nads controversy. LOL

Oh hell didn't see that it was the first glimpse of the cosmic effects for the film right on the cover. Perhaps the SS we saw in the teaser was still not completed F/X. I'll bet he'll look even better. I like the darker look.

Well, they do want to be accurate, do they not? :o
