Just want to see what the majority of people on here think. Should the end of this movie, after he defeats Piccolo, end with Raditz landing or some other sort of massive cliffhanger?

Right now I'm betting it won't have a cliffhanger, as cool as that'd be, because Fox doesn't know how this will do in theaters.

My guess or ending would be that Goku beats Piccolo and it just has kind of a 10 minute ending of him marrying Chi-Chi and the last scene showing them with a tiny baby, signifying that all is well for now.

Then a zoom out to outer space, where a spacepod is zooming towards earth all comet-style. :D

    Perfect cliffhanger right there.

It would be funny if there was a narration at the end saying "next time on dragon ball z" xD

haha that would be so funny

but yea, i think they sould just show a spaceship or something at the end
    thats good enough
and i think that they shouldn't metion the whole saiyan thing on the first movie, so that there is a mystery on what goku is
and then on the 2nd one, raditz tell him all about it

However, Fox wouldn't want to commit to a Dragon Ball 2 if they have no idea how successful Dragon Ball will be in the first place, right? Another idea would be to show Piccolo at the end of the credits, alive and well.

I like the idea of having it end with Gohan being born, as some people already said it would set up for D.B.Z with Gohan. And HA that would be so funny if they did the whole narration thing I agree. But you know what would be some thing? If they showed what happened next by showing clips from the anime at the end during the credits. Like show Raditz showing up at Masteroshies, stuff like that. That way the people in the crowd knows what will happen next...Maybe add in a sort of a cliff hanger but not to bad of a one. I'd love it if they had the D.B.Z anime music for the ending credits. I hope the movie does well, I mean movie wise and money wise so we can see the next few sagas made I want to see who will play little Gohan LOL. Wonder who they'd get for him.

Previous Fox films come to mind that have a cliffhanger ending, Xmen 3, FF2, AVP.

Anyway after the credits it should show 2 saiyan pods heading to earth

The perfect ending for "Dragon Ball:THE FILM" would be this:

After Goku defeats Piccolo; Goku being the good spirited warrior he has always been spares his life (I've got a feeling that FOX isn't going to dish out a brand new Piccolo for Dragon Ball Z, so the entire scene of King Piccolo regurgitating Piccolo Jr. in egg form is probably going to be erased.) After this EPIC battle has come to a conclusion. The audience gets to see Goku living with Chi-Chi in this remote house in the wilderness. Goku would be holding on to Chi-Chi smiling and the camera then Zooms to Chi-Chi's arms and we see Baby Gohan. After this the camera pans up into space! :::Credits start rolling::: in the middle of the credits we see A Saiyan space pod in route to Planet Earth ( Taking it 3 years to get to Earth so it correlates with Gohan being 4 years old at the time of Raditz arrival on Earth.) :yay:

Personally, I'm of the opinion that there shouldn't be a cliffhanger at the end of the credits. But if there is to be one, it should be related to Piccolo rather than the Saiyans for the following reasons:

    1. Looking at past movies with such add-ons, the clip in question is always in relation to the threat/antagonist/loose end of the movie
    2. Audience unfamiliar with the series' progression will be confused and it lets the cat out of the bag far too prematurely for them
    3. Prematurely commits Fox to a sequel
    4. Reduces the sequels' flexibility regarding details. For instance, they might decide they want to skip Raditz's bit and jump straight to the main invasion but can't since they showed only one pod at the end. Or, they showed multiple pods with the intention of skipping Raditz's part only for them to change their mind again. Or they might just simply want to change the pod's design.
    5. Having Piccolo as the cliffhanger conveys the message to those unfamiliar that he is still going to be involved in the story

And on the mildly related but different topic, who here wants Cha-La Head-Cha-La (2005 Japanese Version, of course) to be played at the end credits? Possibly with a slideshow of old artworks in the background?

Cliffhangers are cool, when there's a sequel. There's no guarantee that this will do well enough to warrant a sequel, so I'd rather have a more conclusive ending. I wouldn't mind a little something after the credits that foreshadows the plot of the next film (maybe show Radditz in a pod hurdling towards Earth).

I would absolutely love a double cliffhanger. One option would show Piccolo, alive and well, training to defeat Goku, and the other showing Raditz's space pods. Preferably, I'd like to see the pods with Goku reflecting on whether or not he's the last Saiyan (assuming they keep the idea that Piccolo reveals to him that he's a Saiyan).

Yeah! Have them showing Piccolo Jr. training and meditating and then it zooms out to the spacepod heading towards Earth. That would be great!

Fox might just end up doing a cliffhanger, because there had them in both FF movies and in X3.

No offense, but the "next time on dragonball z" sounds pretty cheesy and ******ed. But yeah, there should be a Cliffhanger

I wasn't ever a huge DBZ fan but every time I watched an episode it seemed to end with a cliffhanger. If the movie did that I would find it hilarious.

But seriously though I don't like when theres huge cliffhangers at the end of a first movie in the series. A hint at a sequel or like an after the credits type of deal would be cool though.

Yeah, now that I think about it, it would be pretty cool to see a spacepod heading to Earth. I imagine that DBZ scene in the episode, Frieza's Counterattack, where Gohan is trying to study but that damn creepy music is playing and it keeps showing shots of space, to show that something big is coming...
