Laurel asked Oliver to move forward in their relationship ( marriage ) and that must have scared him a bit.
I hope I'm correct because I watched the episode with a non attentive hear.

PS : French count increased +1 soon we will rule this board.

Great episode, as usual Felicity was a delight. And it looks like we're getting the Starling City equivalent of the Microwave Emitter :awesome:

Great episode. I was cracking up when felicity said "it's good to have you inside me". Oliver's reaction to that was pretty funny too

Is Mr. Lau the same guy that Batman kidnaps in the The Dark Knight? If he's not is he played by the same actor at least?

I think that's likely to happen, however, I think Malcolm being responsible for the death of his father already sells the feud on Oliver's end. And Oliver getting in the way of his plan is certainly enough to sell it on Malcolm's (he already did the hostage thing). Besides, I like Tommy and want him to stay and to stay a good guy, even though that's probably a pipe dream.

I was thinking she just wanted them to move in together.

I don't remember if his character dies in The Dark Knight, but it would be awesome if it was the same, so it kinda connects Arrow and The Dark Knight Trilogy into one universe :D

Same actor, but two very different characters. Lau never had a daughter that got raped within Starling City and he was killed by the Joker, albeit off screen.

It was just about them moving in together (though the marriage step could certainly be implied). The conversation was brought about by Laurel asking Ollie if he had talked to a friend - who apparently just moved in with his long-standing girl.

Laurel brought up how she and Ollie had been together longer than this other couple.

I think they are starting to take too much from Begins now. I still like it, but I think they need to do some more original things.

I agree. The only one that really gets to me is the plan to destroy the Glades - but it's a biggie.

Yeah, I was sorta fine with the other things. But Malcolm is preaching Ghul stuff now.

I enjoyed the flashbacks that filled in some backstory on where certain characters stood before the sinking of The Queen's Gambit. It made it look like Lau had planted the bomb which I guess gives Moira wiggle room on selling him out.

The back and forth between Ollie and Felicity when she was undercover at the club was fun. :D I also liked that Tommy gave Laurel a straight answer when she confronted him as opposed to continuing his charade, I really don't want them to turn him into a villain.

Glad to see Walter rescued in a cool action sequence, I found it interesting that Ollie purposely set up his mother to see if she was involved in Walter's disappearance since he seemed to be intent on convincing himself that Digg was wrong about her.

Straight from the get go I knew this show was back on track, that opening was pure awesomeness. The action scenes this week were absolutely incredible, especially the fight scene in the Casino. Best of all though was the scene at the end where he went to find Walter, he kicked so much ass it was EPIC!

Stephen Amell continues to impress me at his diversity when playing Oliver in flashbacks and modern day Oliver.

This episode had a great premise of Oliver tracking down Walter, they've really dodged this issue for far too long now so it's great to see them finally tackle it. When Oliver discovered that Malcolm and his Mum were in league regarding Walters kidnapping I was like :wow:.

So we finally got confirmation of what the Undertaking is and to say this film is taking cues from Nolan's Batman well this had League of Shadows all over it. Not a bad thing mind. Also holey revelations Batman on Malcolm and killing Robert. It was interesting how the flashbacks were of Robert and the Undertaking this week, although I did miss the Island flashbacks.

Cannot wait for next week and I hope Roy Harpers back.

Aired in the UK last night. 10/10 from me, surprised at the 8's thought it was definetely up there with the island only episode as best of season. Amazing acting from Stephen Amell on all fronts, especially as the arrogant young Oliver.

This episode convinced me that Merlyn was the right villain for the show, and Barrowman was the right actor for Merlyn. Loved him talking about his wifes phone calls, and loved his scene with Ollie in the hospital. Loved seeing Tommy all suited up looking just like his dad too, foreshadowing? Also the Merlyn theme music is all sorts of good. Merlyn and Oliver are two sides of a coin, the perfect match for each other, love it. Barrowman's been great all year but he's an "end boss" not a returning villain. So either he dies in two weeks, or we get another Merlyn vs Ollie season somewhere down the line. I think the show is going to go with Tommy Merlyn being the constant big bad, but they have other routes they can go with Tommy, so it will be interesting to see how it plays out in two weeks.

Didn't miss Roy or Detective Lance, but assume they still have a big role to play. Also nice to have flashbacks of the Undertaking rather than the Island, but expecting an island-centric episode next week to wrap up that storyline for the season.

Anyone else get the slightest hint that the island may have been part of Robert Queen's plans all along? The only thing against this is he didn't seem to know Ollie was coming on the boat. But I'm not entirely convinced Robert died in that boat. Or if he did, I think he left something for Ollie, given that whole "i left the island and found something detailing my fathers plan" that happened a while ago. Interesting they were going to China and Ollie speaks fluent Chinese, is he getting off the island and spending next series flashbacks in China??

Last thought SO happy Walter is back!!! I think he needs to get with Felicity (who was great in this!) Although it's more likely he will either die, or leave the city after the finale. Love him and Colin Salmon is a great actor, so glad to see him return, at least for now.

I didn't see it as him setting her up. I think he genuinely thought Walter was dead and was putting his family out of their misery. But her reaction made him follow her. Thats just how I took it.

I thought the same thing. Especially with Thea's "why's she acting like that" line (don't recall exact words). I thought that was a sort of prompt to the audience that that was what Oliver was thinking, too, and that's why he followed Moira.

The writers strongly hinted that Ghul was the man that Malcolm met while traveling after his wifes death. He said that the man "showed him what needed to be done to save this city". They basically said it was Ghul but they couldn't name him because of the Batman restrictions.

Also Merlyn in the comics was a member of the league of shadows/assassins. Basically he is one branch of Ghul's league, so it makes sense the plan would be similar. Once they move onto another villain hopefully the plot will be more original, but in this case it does make a bit of sense.

Another great episode, Amell as Ollie was awesome in every scene in this, but the fight scene at the end topped it, great, stuff. Felicity as always was superb, and Ollie finding out about Malcom and his mother is going to get very interesting, the last 2 episodes should be amazing.

Can you imagine if Merlyn were to mention that his "master" or whatever has a similar plan to another big city (Gotham) ?
