Hope someone can post the trailer for this one.

Sneak peek:

Inside the episode:

Nice to see Kara, James and Winn working together again.

Just wait until Kara tells Clark that she's got her own cult.

Right now she's thinking, "maybe glasses really are a terrible disguise..."

So Kara must be unfamiliar with the likes of Jim Jones while she's been on Earth.

Ok that pod in the ocean's not really a pod then, but like a big ship?

I had assumed it was Reign's before, but maybe it's Legion/Mon-El related instead.

Much better ep than last week, imo.

I was worried about this episode being a throwaway and it wasn't completely.

Loved how this connects to the pilot episode from that cult leader's pov.

Powerful acting in this one with Kara, James, and Alex. Stuff with Kara, Lena, and Reign interests me more than the cult stuff.

Lena just mentioned the Justice League and the end with Reign and the big ship underwater is catching my interests. I'm thinking either Mon-El or Saturn Girl are in that big ship.

I liked it. Very focused and not all over the place.

A few little things I liked:

-The Jimmy/Kara scene was excellent. James is really fitting into this season so much better than last season. No Guardian needed.

-Kara's whole Betahedron probe deduction. I've mentioned it before but I love it when the show remembers Kara's Kryptonian science-y side.

-I love that in the end, Coville didn't have nefarious plans for his followers after all, like trying to build an army for something or whatever. He didn't actually want to hurt anyone and was just a true believer, severely misguided obviously, but earnest in his belief. And I appreciated that Kara wasn't able to "fix" that in the end. I like it when the show isn't afraid of various shades of gray.

-the contrast of the theme of deluded idol worship with the adorable dancing Supergirls at the end was a nice touch.

-Ruby sang like an actual kid, instead of sounding like she should be on American Idol or something, lol.

I thought this was the strongest episode of the season and it reminded me of the better story telling in season 1 and I liked how it tied into the pilot. The cult felt creepy but there were some genuinely touching emotional moments. I was surprised they talked so much about religion actually. The Sam scenes at the end keep getting more and more interesting I'm really curious what's coming.

Good episode. The ending scene in the bathroom was really creepy and reminded me of the ring. I also loved the way they approached the cult.

Its realistic that people would think of her as a god and worship her for her good deeds. Snyder placed emphasis more on the fear aspect of humanities reaction to a super being, while this episode looked at the other side of the coin in which some people would likely go overboard in worshiping a superhero.

Chad Lowe did a really good job.I actually met Chad and his then wife Hillary Swank back in the late 90s, and he's actually a pretty nice guy in real life as Hillary is too.:yay:.

Best episode of the season yet. But I found it hard to believe that in the 2+ years that James and Kara have been close friends, he never before told her about the time he almost died and Superman saved him. You'd think it'd be... one of the first things they'd talk about.

Generally speaking, I thought the handling of religion in this episode was interesting, "diplomatic" and (even) thoughtful. That said, I’m not a fan of modern Krypton being so pious (e.g., Kara praying to Rao with holo-Mom). Ancient Krypton - no problem; but methinks a science-based, advanced culture would be less religious. Admittedly, it’s a tad tricky to represent atheism, skepticism or rationalism in a genre where every other character is a god, goddess, wizard or otherwise magically powered superhero. :cwink:

I think the themes they are exploring this season is much better than Season One and Two.

Writing seems better anyways. And the tone. (I might have liked it even without the Kara-Alex scenes). However, I did love the chat at the school when Kara took her seat (see they don't worship you or something like that).

I am sad, we never got an actual Alex-Lena interaction; I mean not in this way but more in a getting to know you kind of way. (This kind of had an established feel to it). I'd have liked a "What a small world" it is comment at least from Sam. (friendship; I have left the tentative Alex-Lena ship behind :) Clearly, that is James).

I kind of still liked the women friendships.

Kara and James are actually growing into their friendship.

Alex's super-love of children feels like it came out of nowhere this season. I mean here was a woman who didn't even seem all that interested in dating until Maggie came along. And now we're meant to buy that this is so important to her, that she and Maggie, who overcome multiple challenges last year in their relationship, cannot stay together if Maggie doesn't want kids? Really?

It feels like a really blatant writing contrivance to break them up honestly.

I'm going to forgo break downs for the rest of this season. I have just REALLY enjoyed all of the episodes thus far. This one was so well crafted, the writers did an outstanding job of taking a HUGE story line, furthering all of the sub plots, as well as pushing Supergirl even further toward fully understanding who she is and what her purpose on earth really is....that was a huge undertaking, yet it didn't feel rushed, or out of place within the other episodes, it was a nice piece to the puzzle.

And, I really liked the new effects of the Kryptonite on her eyes....very cool.

I guess I'm in the minority. I wasn't a huge fan of this ep or this season so far.

3 straight seasons of completely shaking up everyone's lives is wearying. Mopey Kara cuz her boyfriend left is dull.

I think that they're handling the Mon El thing much better in this episode than the first two this season. In the last two episodes , Kara is clearly still dealing with his loss, but the overall tone of the episodes is more consistent with the series as opposed to it trying to being dark and dower as the first two were.

I guess they had to course correct with Mon El being gone, Kara's grief, the introduction of Reign and daughter , and the introduction of Edge as a new big bad.

Now it feels like the writers have hit their stride again, while the first two episodes seemed like they were trying to go for a different approach toward the series which didn't work for me.

I actually think the episodes have flowed really well together. It is obvious that they have a plan this season as opposed to last seasons all over the place episodes. They are putting a puzzle together and the pieces are fitting really nicely. I think my problem with last weeks episodes was that it was pretty much 2 sub plots and though they were both about fathers, I AT FIRST thought the writing of Maggie's part was pretty poor...and Jonn's part was good, but IMO needed to be fleshed out more.

But in this episode the sub plot of Alex and Sam REALLY flowed well with the main plot...I really enjoyed it.

I think I finally figured out in the 3rd episode, that honestly I just don't find Maggie all that interesting, I don't think she is good for Alex, I think that she is pretty selfish at times, and far more into her wants and needs moreso than Alex....I'm ready for her to move on and Alex to have a free storyline again.

This was a strange episode for me, Melissa and Chyler were both on point as usual though.

Yeah, Melissa and Chyler are really bringing it this season. After the premiere, the quality has gone up, and the material has really seemed to bring out good performances. And a bad guy that you couldn't just punch was great.

Looking forward to seeing how Reign develops.
