Whats there to forgive? Its not like Sony personally wronged me. Why is ALL the hate and contempt being thrown Sony's way and not the bastards that actually attacked them? Its like someone breaking into your friends apartment and robbing them including an item or 2 of yours you left there and then turning around and being mad at your friend for having the audacity to be robbed while not being mad at criminals who actually did it.

agreed i dont see why I should be mad

Just point me toward the pathetic nerds responsible for it and then I'll show you how easily I forgive.

See... I'm not demanding this or that, I actually game more on Live so PSN being down doesn't even really bother me... BUT, I'm having a hard time understanding why Sony's customer base is so forgiving. If Live was experiencing the same problems both advocates and opponents of Microsoft would be all over it.

I mean, maybe the whole issue isn't as big as it COULD have been... but it's still nothing to wave your hand and forget about. I just find it hard to be completely forgiving of any multi-billion dollar company that doesn't take the steps it needs to keep user information safe and sound.

Sony DOES owe it's userbase... They just do. A free game PSN game and 30 days of Plus and an upgraded network should be enough to appease everyone.

Its been down for like a week. What do you mean by so forgiviing, you do realize they are pretty deep in it, id say its pretty Big. Countries are demanding answers, our congress is on them, they are involved with the FBI now, they prolly spent quite a bit of money hiring people to help build up their security. They are considering refunding all the banks their money for replacement credit cards. Your acting like no one is giving them a hard time, yet every gaming site i go to is mocking them.

Id say they are handling this pretty well tho. They dont need to offer us free stuff to be honest since their service is free but they are, it'll hurt in the short term, kind of like the whole xbox red ring of death did for microsoft(im sure they had to invest a lot of money in replacements). People should be more pissed at these hackers because it'll probably happen again to some of the other systems who think they are safe. I do hope they eventually find this guy, or these guys and people start suing them.

Here is my point of view. Everything can be hacked. That's just a fact of life. Credit card companies, websites, NASA, Military bases, the United Nations, and even the Secretary of Defense have been hacked. Just recently my Yahoo account was hacked and, in a separate incident, BOA had to send us new cards because of a hack. It is just how it is. The hackers are to blame here, not Sony. So far nothing has been verified as being stolen. The only thing we have lost for sure is the use of PSN. Sony has gone above and beyond to tighten it's security and have been upfront about what happened. That's all I wanted really.

Same Here... I agree and fell the same way.

Same here but except suing, these people deserve jailtime. This isnt just a minor crime than can be dealt away with money. Its a criminal offense and whoever is responsible better hope they dont get caught bc if they do, I hope a judge throws the book at them

Sorry about over reacting to a company having subpar security with millions of peoples data and letting those all go into the hands of eastern european mobsters. Next time I'll just shut up and forgive them when they give me some coupons and a half assed apology for making identity theft on their entire user base that much easier!

Well, then tell us, what do you want? What, do you want Kaz to fly to your house to apologize just to you specifically? Do you want them to give $10,000 of damage? Do you want them to hire a $1,000 a night hooker to come and pleasure each of their 78 million PSN users. They apologized and are giving out some free compensation while bulking up their security. What the **** else are they going to do? Seriously, what else can they do to appease everyone that's remotely feasible? I understand being pissed; we all are pissed I'm sure, but come on, what else is there to do?

The problem was NOT your anger towards a company, it was your insulting, rude namecalling to another poster....

I heard the 4th of May but thats just a rumor floating around.

Hopefully it's soon, because I'm having MP withdrawals. I own both systems, but the majority of MP games that I own are on the PS3.

So I didnt have my credit card in, but did have my home address, email, etc. in. Should I be worried still? I mean my PSN password is different from my other passwords but it still worries me.

I think I may take advantage of this 30-day PS+ from Sony to upgrade my hard drive and upload those copy-protected saves to the Cloud. *strokes invisible beard*

Hopefully it comes back online tomorrow sometime... That would be sweet!

I need my netflixs!!!!

PSN is NOT needed for netflix, I have been using netflix on my PS3 since the network went down. when you access it it will prompt you to sign in, do so, then hit the 'circle' button to go back, it will pause and ask again, repeat, go back and you are in.

Actually, I haven't been able to do that. Instead of asking me to sign in again, I get a message saying it can't connect to Netflix at this time.

Now we need a statement from Sony saying when the PSN will go back online.

Thats crazy.. My Netflix works just fine and all my friends who have a PS3 and Netflix say theirs works just fine too.
You can watch your Netflix on your PC.
