Estimated First Weekend Gross?

    Just wondering what everyone thinks X3 will make in it's first weekend outing.

    I ask because I read today that Mission Impossible 3 didn't do so well, in fact didn't even beat the first weekend numbers for VAN HELSING, which was not a highly anticipated film.

    Granted, in my opinion, more people are looking forward to X3 than MI3, but it could be a display that movie ticket sales as a whole are declining, even for heavily advertised films.

    Any guesses?

    im guessing 90 million! just because its the 3rd so it has a lot of hype! and publicity has really stepped up!! im really excited about this movie now!

    okay.... MI3 Was awesome! i had very low expectation though! i was dragged there by accident... but people in general just thought it would suck... i am having a hard time convincing people to see it now that i have.


    but....

    i am going to guess opening weekend is going to land about-----

    man this is hard.... MI3 should have taken in 85 estimated.... and only did 46. Hmmmmm... hollywood is in a hurt... but this is XMEN and we want X4 so we are all going! RIGHT?

    Considering X2 made 85 million, I'll say X3 makes around the same for it's opening weekend, maybe more if Da Vinci underperforms.

    I don't think people are taking into account that it's a holiday weekend which means most people have monday off which will inflate Sunday's numbers. I think everyone is aiming too low. 85 is the minimum this will make over it's first 3 days. The quality won't matter on opening weekend, but will during the rest of its run. Just watch and see.

    Between $75,000,000 to $80,000,000. Will it have a simultaneous worldwide release on May 26th? Each film has done better each time at the box office so this one could possibly have record breaking numbers opening weekend.
