Has anyone read any of the plays by Euripides?

i.e. The Bacchae, Medea or Hippolytus.

How do you find them?

Depressing...or enlightening?

have you never read a greek tragedy before? there all like that

Yes. I have.

I'm a damn CLASSICS student!

What i'm asking you...is do you appreciate Euripides' characterisation ?

eh.. there all classics and i love greek mythology.. so im a bit biased lol..

It's a bit more on the depressing side. I wouldn't call him emo though.

I've always perfered the works of Charles Mason.

you study classics- do you like it?
is that where you have to speak latin or greek, i toyed with the idea of doing classical studies because the language wasn't necessary but i can't find a uni that will do it jointly with art:csad:

Very much so. It's essentially like English Literature...but with interesting texts [if incest, rape, suicide, murder and war could be called interesting!!!].

@ the moment i'm studying The Aeneid and Sophecles' Electra.

I love it,

But possibly the only downside is....it's soooo much reading!

:S

And no....you dont have to speak latin or greek- we study the translated texts.

the classical world is the building blocks of civilisation. that sounds awesome but i don't want to give up my art. i did well in english literature, i better look harder for courses

the Oedipus trilogy is pretty depressing as well... go greek tragedies!
