The only reason this came up is because I sadly had on mtv this morning, and this band Flyleaf had a video on. The band actually seems kinda cool... female lead and all...


But... will the fally under that Evanesence category?

Definitely rock. And I'm very hesitant to try to classify them as Pop Rock.

I only know of this band from one song that was in Daredevil and a reference in a Mark Live verse.

I listened to Evanescence a few days ago, and now I don't like them anymore. And it's funny, because I would listen to them rather constantly back when I first bought the CD.

Lacuna Coil is better, though.

three years ago, when they first came out on the DD soundtrack I first thought they were Lacuna Coil (a way much better Italian band whom Evanescence is a clear rip off) but then noticed the Linkin Park uglyness thrown in and eventually found out it was this new band

Evanescence is kinda like pop metal wannabe, or music for impresionable teens and preteens as I like to call it

The lead singer has a very nice voice.

she's got the whole dark angel look going. tan might not be right for her. reminds me of twin peaks.

she really is easy on the eyes too

and I don't know about the tan thing

but a pretty face and a pretty voice shouldn't be the focal point, it's supposed to be about the music

and if you like Evanescence, make yourself a favor and listen to Lacuna Coil

I have to say I'm starting to like alot of Evanescence's pre-label stuff. Check out songs like Lies, Even In Death and the EP version of Whisper.

You know, if you guys want some good female fronted Metal bands check out Within temptation (My current new favorite!!) and Nightwish (Though they've fired Tarha turunen I cannot tell you how good the new singer will be.).
