Marvel released the official Wasp prototype suit image.

Excellent!!

thats kind of a bummer that she wont be in Civil War. I was hoping she'd make a cameo.

Lilly is pregnant? I thought she just gave birth to one...

She's stuck in the Quantum Realm, so time has no meaning in there. So 9 months seems like 9 weeks, which is why she can pop them out at an increased rate.

Yes, but Evangeline is stuck in her own quantum of solace. :o

How will they explain her absence, I wonder?

I doubt it'd be that difficult; Lang directly was appraised by The Avengers (presumably) and had direct ties to the group (stealing from them) during Ant-Man; Hope has no ties. It's entirely possible as well that Hope and Hank are still working on the suit.

Yeah, they can shove pretty much every other character into that film. But apparently not her (or Nick Fury)?

It would make no sense to have exposed skin using Pym particles is why it needs sleeves.

Seems pretty easy. Civil War will explain Lang's appearance. There's no inherent assumption that either of them would get involved in this fight. Scott does (for reasons we'll see), Hope doesn't (the default answer). I don't think it needs to be addressed more than that.

Alternatively, maybe the suit's not done yet?

It is a prototype and Pym did ask her to help finish it so I'm sure they'll put some sleeves on it to encapsulate the entire body.

They never explicitly said exposed skin made the particles dangerous, just that you needed the suit for protection. I mean I get the thinking that you'd want to be fully covered since Scott's suit was but this is comic book SCIENCE! not real world.

Anyway I figure if it were meant to have sleeves the image would have some, even some unfinished ones so it's probably meant to be sleeveless ala Ultimate Wasp.

No, this is comic book MOVIE science, not real world. I'm going by the rules the movie set for itself.

Yeah it's only a prototype so maybe the final suit's colors will look more like this,

If it doesn't, then so help me I will kill an ant or wasp at first sight.

I know that the wings are out, but I wonder if they'll appear when she shrinks and disappear when she goes back to normal size.

Didn't Pym say that he was still working on the finishing touches? He even asked Hope to help him complete it. So Im hoping the final costume will look similar in style to the comics.

You know, I wonder how big the MCU will have to get before people stop assuming that *everyone* has to appear in *everything*.

I'm not bummed she's not appearing in Civil War, the cast is already huge as is so I understand. I'm just happy we'll be seeing her suited up, even if it is a little later on.

Peyton Reed talked about Hope with USA Today while promoting the DVD\Blu-Ray release of Ant-Man

Ant-Man is also very much Hope van Dyne’s origin story because she has to learn to make peace with her father and she’s an incredibly powerful character in that movie – way more qualified than even Scott Lang is to take that job.

We knew it would be incredibly satisfying to introduce her getting the costume because she so deserves it. Part of the arc between Hank Pym and Hope van Dyne is Hank realizing, I’ve got this incredibly capable person right here and I’m finally realizing what I thought was protecting her has really been holding her back. And he rewards her with this suit. It felt satisfying in the moment but of course everybody wants to see Evangeline in the outfit — me being one of them — and a kickass hero.

she was only like 34/35 when she filmed this movie? She looked old in it. I dont think the short hair suits her well. She looked at least 10 years older. You can see that in the thumbnail to the video above me
