Anyone here a fan of Neon Genesis Evangelion?

Evangelion is, in its plot, character development, and themes, absolutely brilliant. One of my favorite shows.

I suggest you all read the Shinji Ikari Raisng Project that just started up Over 9000x better that Angelic Days.

I was really into Evangelion until near the end. IMO it started to fall apart and ended with a whimper. I thought Death Note was similar in that aspect. However up until those points I thought both animes were brilliant.

On a side note I still haven't watched the redone movie ending, was it alright? Usually I just hear ppl saying it was more violent and angry feeling. Also read tons of Japanese fans sent death threats over the original ending and the redo was like a giant FU to them (tho that's only what I read once when I looked it up awhile back, not sure if it's true).

I actually like the movie ending. Yes it was significantly violent and brutal in a couple places but I didn't find myself saying wtf every ten minutes like I did with the ending in the series.

As for the whole back story behind the movie I have heard that this was a big **** you to the fans but than again the creator of the series Hideaki Anno said himself that the movie ending was the ending he always intended for the series but due to complications with the studio he was forced to change it.

I am a fan but I didn't get to watch all of it. kind of bums me out I didn't get to what I've seen it was awesome. the Characters, the Plot, not the normal. I think I will get the boxset of DVDs.

Evangelion is an eccentric and somewhat unsatisfying ending.
But enjoyable series anyway.
