You need to be a bit more neutral in this conflict instead of 100% supporting the Palestinians and Hezbollah.

My thoughts on this.

Hezbollah (Hizbollah(?) can any newspaper make up their minds how to spell this??) are seen as that country's freedom fighters - representing the little man as it were. Bit more extreme than the IRA but similarly viewed (IMO) and if - during the heights of the troubles in Northern Ireland - the British government had started targeting and killing scores of civilians in response to IRA bombings, the response would have been overwhelmingly against the British government. I have no sympathy for Israel (i.e. the government, not the people) on this at all.

Hezbollah is a terrorist group. They are the ones behind 1983 bombings of the American embassy in Beirut and the marine barracks (whose purpose was peacekeeping). They assassinated government officials. They supported Syrian occupation of Lebanon. They support the destruction of Israel. They are considered to be a terrorist organization by various nations such as the United States, Canada, members of the European Union, etc. They supply Palestinian suicide bombers with supplys to carry out terrorist attacks. While Israel is targeting Hezbollah targets, Hezbollah is purposely attacking civilian targets.

Neither side deserves sympathy at all. They both brought this upon themselves. To chose a side is simply naive.

I'm pro-Israel, but I have to agree with kainedemo that this smells faintly of bull feces. First of all, it doesn't exactly come from the most neutral source: Israel National News. I don't think I have the knowledge of the entire situation to say for certain whether this story is true or not, but I'm taking it with severe amounts of salt.

I was trying to tell him that Hezbollah are not freedom fighters like some here tend to beleive. I was telling them the cold hard truth that they are indeed terrorists.

My final comment was to tell them that I am not pro-Israel either.

More than a few. The whole U.N. outpost being blown up incident aside, there are verified accounts of Red Cross workers in bright orange vests with GIANT red crosses on them to identify them as such trying to pull Palestinian children out of combat zones and being deliberately shot by Israeli soldiers for their troubles. I guess they thought the red crosses were targets or something. There are no innocents on either side of this conflict. Both have done despicable things and more than their fair share to perpetuate the problems.
