Evil Land Fish! Kill it! Kill it! Kill it!

The spider that sucks a Camel's blood is appropriately named Camel Spider.
Oh and it's huge. But not as big as the dinner plate sized Bird Spider

On a more serious note, I did not know the fish was an invasive species. That truly is a major cause for concern and it can harm the ecosystem. Perhaps introducing a natural predator would help?

Um...I don't believe you.

You are correct. I had heard one of the myths about the camel spider (FYI not a spider and not a scorpion but some sort of mix of both). The facts seem to be that it eats "small rodents, spiders, insects, termites, and small lizards. They are not strong enough to capture and kill large mammals, but occasionally they capture small birds. "

The "goliath bird eating spider" is a species of tarantula 11 inches across ("the size of a dinner plate").

The Camel Spider isn't a "mix of both" :o Now you're spreading your own myth :oldrazz:

The site even has a clear phylogeny to show how the two groups are related:

I've seen this episode of [every cartoon that takes place in nature, which is probably based off of an old fable]. One species goes out of control in a new environment, so they introduce its predator. But then the predator goes out of control, so they introduce the predator of the predator. And it's just a repeating cycle.

I can never remember how that story ends, though.

In real life it ends badly. Usually.

Skinner: Well, I was wrong. The lizards are a godsend.
Lisa: But isn’t that a bit short-sighted? What happens when we’re overrun by lizards?
Skinner: No problem. We simply release wave after wave of Chinese needle snakes. They’ll wipe out the lizards.
Lisa: But aren’t the snakes even worse?
Skinner: Yes, but we’re prepared for that. We’ve lined up a fabulous type of gorilla that thrives on snake meat.
Lisa: But then we’re stuck with gorillas!
Skinner: No, that’s the beautiful part. When wintertime rolls around, the gorillas simply freeze to death.
