Justice League Ezra Miller Is The Flash - Part 2

I feel like it was split just as much as it is for flash.
And then there were the rumors about her solo before it came out.

I think we’ll see something similar with Flash’s solo.
He just needs the right writer and director.

Honestly I know he stepped off and probably is never coming back but I still believe that Rick Famuyiwa would definitely have been a good choice. Especially after seeing a few of his movies, Rick was definitely a good choice to handle Ezra' eccentric personality and translate it into a likable and relatable character for the audience especially since he was able to do it with similar characters in the past.

Ezra was hit and miss for me. Some of of his delivery fell kind of flat (I think this was more or less the writing. Perfect example being the exchange between Batman about saving people). I also wasn't huge on how some of the shots seemed to dwell on him looking uncomfortable.

I think with better direction, the guy could be killer.

But Zod damn, they really need to work on his running style for the next film. Some of it just looked straight up goofy.

Barry's humor was decent but I feel like there should have been more depth in his personality besides just looking for a job at the CSI. Maybe interaction with Iris or a heart to heart moment with Batman, Cyborg or Wonder Woman would have really helped with that.

His running, at first was supposed to display his uncoordination and despite being the fastest man alive doesn't change his awkwardness or something of that nature. But the moment I saw the last run or the first post credit scenes, I'll admit I yelled out "That run is ugly!":gngl::hehe:

His film will be csncelled.

He was badly written in this that's absolutely not his fault but this films in development hell and the easiest one to drop after the Jl debacle

Ehhh
I was excited about Famuyiwa having it but the more I think about it the more I feel like it’s better that he left. Looking at what he’s done I feel like his style and specific aesthetic would have been mixed in too heavily.
Like Ayer with Suicide Squad.
I think that would have been a mistake.

This dude is the worst Flash ever.

Why did WB think we wanted such a dorky Flash? Flash is more than just crappy jokes and goofy expressions... His whole performance was in his eyes. He just kept making the same bewildered expression with his eyes.

1. Grant Gustin
2. John Wesley Shipp
3. Ezra Miller

They should really recast.

Miller is a good actor.
He just needs better writing and direction.

He needs a part that’s more than just a comedic relief and I’m sure he’d get that in a solo.

I don't buy it. Being a good actor =/= being right for every character.

He was wrong for this role. He failed on a pretty major level. I think they need to replace him.

If they were going to make Flash the comic relief, maybe it would be a good idea to go with an actor that actually has good comedic timing.

The jokes were bad, but they were made even worse by Ezra's delivery.

How did he fail at a major level?

The audience I saw JL with definitely enjoyed him.
He was an obvious crowd favorite.

No elements of this movie clicked well with the audience on a major level. Justice League was a failure. They would be better off just wiping the slate clean. That means scrapping everyone except for Gadot and we kind of have to keep Momoa now that Aquaman is already finished.

Ezra was by far the worst part of this movie. Horribly unfunny.

If you think Ezra Miller's Flash was funny, you probably also enjoy Young Sheldon

Seems dramatic. :hmm:

I’m not defending JL.
I think the movie is incredibly flawed.
I just know that Flash worked for the audience I saw it with and I’ve seen a lot of people say the same.

I thought some of it was funny and I’m disgusted by the existence of young Sheldon

I liked him. Ezra Miller's Barry Allen is intelligent and charming in spite of himself. He has buckets of charisma and is a very talented actor. The audiences I was with loved the character, which is no surprise...he's clearly meant to be the audience favorite.

From a character standpoint, I would have liked to have seen a bit more heroic drive from Barry Allen, in terms of why he does what he does, though they did set the stage for his drive with regard to criminal justice, giving him a personal stake in it.

I liked the “running in place” angle, with him not really having much of an outlet, and being The Flash as an outlet works in that sense.

I know some people find him annoying, and he's clearly meant to be a bit much for the other leaguers at the moment, but I didn't consider him annoying just because he has a higher pitched voice and is a bit twitchy. He's just annoying enough for it to be endearing, but they'll need to mature him a bit for his next outing. With relatively few exceptions, the character was funny in a situational sense. There was relatively little slapstick, and his humor was character centric (“I’m really hungry”) and somewhat along the lines of what you see in the comics.

His overall personality was less “lets make him wacky”, and more about someone who moves faster than the people around him, thinks too quickly, and speaks before he has a chance to process what he's thinking. He’s a little awkward, but it makes sense that he would be with those personality traits and as a novice to heroing.

While the "slow motion Superman stare" is fun, I absolutely adore the moment when, after being confronted by Superman, he tries to "push Superman and run away" and then goes flying.

I like that he struggles a bit with anxiety. Social and otherwise. When people think quickly, and their thoughts race, they can often develop symptoms of anxiety. I thought that was an interesting twist on the character.

You can see in the movie that The Flash is saying things almost before he thinks of them. He leaps before he looks in some cases. You can also see him “shaking” during a couple of key sequences when he’s trying to sort of calm himself down before going into the fray. Ezra Miller played this role to the hilt, and I'm looking forward to a possible solo.

his social awkwardness made him relatable.

i saw parts of myself in this version of barry allen.

there's a hero in every one of us.
even the ones with alot of anxiety.

i liked that.

THIS

I really loved that.
Assuming that the plan is to grow him into a more confident hero, it’ll be nice to see that sort of development in a character like this.

Agreed! I've hate the state that Gustin's Flash has recently gone too, but in my opinion, he's the best Barry Allen/Flash that's hit the screen that I've liked. Miller's was unfunny and corny. I cringed at all the forced comedy that was written for the JL's Flash.

big ups to Ezra Miller, a highlight of the movie. Too bad we didn't get to see any Flash villains here.

I hope that we get to see his CSI skills in the next movie, solo or group.

We should get to see some power stunts next time, various stuff.

So I see people complaining about how he runs; do you think that should be changed in the future?

I think I see the idea behind it, with the very long steps, due to his speed and acceleration he would take very long leaps with every step when he runs (like a cheetah or a gazelle) and I think it's interesting and sets him apart visually from other speedsters we've seen on screen...maybe it just needs a little tweaking and polishing in the future; it was a little weird to me the first time I saw it but I don't have a real problem with it anymore.

I thought the idea behind it was that he was trying to show that he was running in a medium with high resistance, hence the weird way he runs. Like running through a thick viscous substance. While I appreciate the idea and creativity behind it, the execution was a little weird. He looked like he was speed-walking in that ending montage. He would look a lot more badass if he runs normally.
