My point is even young fans are disgusting by how much of a bastardization this film has turned into.

He literally said all the things wrong with the film that all the other fans are saying. He was like "why did they make all these unnecessary changes?" and "Why is The Thing naked and everything so serious?"

Whaaaaat? Most kids don't know and don't care about the "unnecessary changes."

Again, if you want to watch a movie for kids you have the Story movies! No reason this movie can't be what it is.

That point is invalid point because your talking about one kid. That is one kid's opinion it doesn't speak for the mass majority of children.

I wasn't saying that as a generalization. I just brought up a funny anecdote from my life. Whoever said I was trying to make mass assumptions. I just said what he did and what others are capable of.

Exactly.

@jaymes: I somehow doubt that your nephew came to those conclusions completely on his own.

He did hence what made it so funny. I didn't even tell him I didn't like the new version of it before he said it.

He was like "why is Johnny black and why does Reed look so young?" Seriously it was the most perfect moment. I looked at him with such pride for being able to come up with this all on his own.

If those are deal breakers than he is one picky kid!

@jaymes: Those reactions are far too specific to have come about 'uncoached', so I stand by my skepticism that you didn't do anything to influence his opinion.

:whatever: I just told him there was a new movie and showed him the trailer he got everything on his own. He's not an idiot.

Well my 14 year old brother thinks this looks terrible, so there are other young fans out there displeased with the direction of this film.

Well this conversation has hit a new low. Trying to discredit/attack little kids opinions. Way to set the bar high guys.

What does your 10 year old nephew think about people who go to a theatre to see a particular movie and purposefully pay for the wrong one in an effort to manipulate box office numbers? Will you tell him that it is tantamount to stealing, and there is no moral/legal justification for it that makes it "ok". It just shows poor character.

Guys guys.

It's okay what a kid thinks about a trailer, it is just a trailer.

As long as the kids enjoy the movie, that is what matters.

Apparently there are several people here who worked on this movie and are taking great offense to the fact that some people are saying mean things about it.

I mean, why else would they be acting like this?

People get defensive when someone says they don't like something they like.

I think Kelly posted that a kid had seen the trailer or pics on her computer and liked it?

Didn't see anyone trying to discredit them, lol :cwink:

Seriously, not everyone is going to like this. Not everyone is going to dislike it either. The world spins on regardless.

To me, the pride he got from his young nephew pointing out all the "unnecessary changes" juxtaposed with his prior post supporting/encouraging people to cheat, seemed ironic and sad. I know there will be people of all ages who like/don't like this film for many reasons. That's ok by me.

Kids aren't supposed to enjoy the movie. According to Teller, this movie is not for them.

What on God's green Earth are you talking about?

This is what I'm talking about.

You were trying to connect something I said in jest as if it was my moral compass to how I teach the young children I know?

Really?

FFINO supporters seem desperate to discredit anyone who doesn't agree with them.
