Actually, I just found that there was one.

Allegedly, it's positive.

Wait, wasn't it said the film was finished like three days before comic con? That tweet is dated July 1st.

It's actually June 1st. Month and a half before the movie was apparently finished.

Wonder what the going studio rate is for buying a tweet like that.

But Josh Trank tweeted in May that there were no test screenings....

Test screenings are unedited versions shown to a sample of people to gauge audience reaction and get feedback. If the reaction was overwhelmingly positive I don't think they would have been doing as many reshoots as they allegedly did and had to work up until 3 days before comic-con.

Press screenings are shown to critics so they can write reviews and prepare them for when the embargo is lifted

@ELVAQUERODIABLO Trailers really don't mean anything....well some of the them do :-)

The thing the movie uses to try and sell you to see the movie doesn't mean anything lololololololol!!!!

FOX makes it rain every now and then apparently.

So the rumor was that Matthew Vaughn reshot and re-edited parts of the film, and then FOX held test screenings to see how audiences reacted.

Then Trank at the end of May tweeted that "there were no test screenings."

Then LatinoReview on June 1st tweeted that there was a test screening.

So who is telling the truth? :whatever:

Trank was replying to the article stating that there were test screenings in April that had poor feedback and led to reshoots, saying them screenings didn't happen.

he's tricky, he words it in a way in which he doesn't technically say there were no test screenings period. But I'm probably over-analyzing

The Trank screening denial was always ridiculous. It was confirmed ages ago that there was an internal footage screening before the reshoots even happened. Matthew Varwas quoted about it in an interview months ago.

Now, as for this supposed screening Latino Review got such a positive report from...

Yeah, I'm calling bull on that one. It would have been an extremely rough cut at that stage. The score is confirmed to have not been done at that time, and the film wasn't close to being done based on the Comic-Con statement. If anything, they may have shown some sort of sizzle reel.

It was probably a pre-effects cut.

And Trank is just covering for himself. He doesn't want to give any credit to Vaughn or Kinberg since it would confirm that he made mistakes. He'd rather take credit for other people's hard work than show any humility. That's what that means.

PGiven the sort of film this is (one of the leads is CG, for crying out loud) I think it's more likely that LRs source was full of **** than an unfinished movie with a preliminary score and such highlights as Kate Mara's hair changing scene to scene was so damn good.

Or FOX bought some cheap positive word of mouth.

As somebody who has been a professional critic in the past, I've never heard of that kind of stuff happening. Particularly since it's a tweet and not a full article.

We'll know what kind of film this is in less than two weeks considering it comes out in New Zealand on the 30th.

Jeff Sneider went from talking about Josh Trank physically threatening him in the past back when the Star Wars story broke to tweeting about how great Fantastic Four is, how he doesn't need to watch the trailer because he's already sold, and how it wasn't nice to kick Josh Trank when he was down because there's two sides to the story. I repeat, he told the world that Trank physically threatened him prior to this.

Those Fox checks are pretty great, yo.

Quick tweet that people can easily digest is more feasible and probably cheaper to buy than a full on article.

As well, a full on article that far out would be even more suspicious. This way, with the tweet, it looks like proper "insider info scoop" stuff, so there's a bit of plausible deniability.

That's the most damning of all this critic stuff. I called dude out on it too, no answer.

He's lying either way. Either then or now. I'm inclined to believe he's lying now because somebody offered him some money to recant and play up some positive spin.

Can somebody change the text to read

"Pander to Rebellious Teenagers
Pray they're bored enough to see this movie"

Fun fact: Sony once completely made up a man named David Manning just to use fake positive quotes from him in promotional materials.

Studios are not above doing unethical bull****.
