Oh wait I forgot you can only comment on a film if you like it and want to see it, not if you love the characters but hate the adaptation

Because everyone here loves these characters and having everyone who hates what Fox is doing with these beloved characters get together and talk trash about it is a million times more fun than what I'll probably have seeing this schlock. Also, referring to anyone as "haters" is a surefire way to have people not take your posts seriously.

Usually when I'm on a board this much I go see the movie.

This board is a brilliant combination of curiosity, annoyance and venting. So the result isn't exactly, "lets all go see the movie".

Fun fact: Sony once completely made up a man named David Manning just to use fake positive quotes from him in promotional materials.

Studios are not above doing unethical bull****.

That's different from paying somebody off. I've heard of journalists shaking bands down for interviews but never journalists being bribed for publicity purposes.
