Fant4stic: Reborn! - - - - - Part 39

The movie's most offensive moment is a direct rip-off to Avengers: Age of Ultron. I refuse to believe it was by accident either. It's an exact, direct lift. However, where it is somewhat amusing in Avengers, it is downright offensive here.

I am really saddened that Josh Trank believes there are only two versions of Sue Storm, the ****ty secretary or the brilliant scientist. He clearly does not understand the character at all.

He claimed Sue would be dignified and have integrity in this movie but she doesn't.

She is smart and stoic and likes to listen to music while she works...that's it. Apparently being a smart girl who listens to music on her headphones while she types at a keyboard makes you really dignified and full of integrity. Go figure.

I read the article. The whole thing is kind of bizarre. The writer could probably paint a man like ghandi as a dick. But if that article is at all representative of what Teller is really like I probably wouldnt find him all that pleasant.

I also just read it--and agree with your assessments.

Miles Teller is an ass. Plain and simple. And cocky as hell too. I wonder if he'll maintain this overconfident "swag" after this film ruins his career? :whatever:

Oh.

And this part:

The nose is crooked, the eyelids fleshy, the chin soft, the cheeks mottled with flush.

Best description of his face EVER. :funny: Fleshy Eyelids.

Most people don't realize though is that Fox's F4 contract states that they have 7 years to make a F4 film before the rights are reverted back to Disney/Marvel. So we'll either see a sequel in a few years or a reboot near 2021 sad to say
.. actually nearly all of us know this.. and have stated countless times fox likely wont try again for a 4th time

Fantastic Four has dropped to 14% on Rotten Tomatoes. So whatever "Momma jokes" Devin Faraci wants to throw around doesn't matter--he's clearly in the minority.

I'm not watching this so what did they rip off exactly?

I haven't seen the film either but judging by the trailer, wasn't there a scene where the earth itself is being ripped up and cars and houses are going with it? It definitely reminded me of Avengers: Age Of Ultron when Serkovia "went for a ride." ;)

But let VileOne confirm.

I think he means the ending.

Remember the Avengers Assemble smash credits gag? They do the same thing here, except it's the team coming up with a name. Ben says, "yeah it's all so fantastic." Light bulb over Reed, he's all like "What did you just say?" "Fantastic." "Yeah that's the ticket we're the F--" smash cut to credits.

I get the sense that Teller probably has a sophomoric, male frat sense of humor that probably put off and gave a bad first impression to the writer. Some personalities are just like oil and water, even if the two people are not particularly bad people at all.
Frat humor is gross though. I can forgive a lot of it in actual college age people but Teller is pushing 30...If you're still joking about how you did drugs and are telling strangers about your penis that's not really "funny" anymore.

He'll probably fit right in in Hollywood though.

I met Teller once at a Footloose junket. I participated in a roundtable with him and his female love interest actress. Granted, there were more people there and we probably only had about 30 minutes with him, but he didn't come off that way at all.

This is the same studio that churned out three back to back horrific Alien films and then went ahead and produced Prometheus, and has now greenlight Prometheus 2 and another Aliens film with a director who last two films bombed.

We can never predict what Fox will do. LOL

And about Sue, apparently she doesn't even go on the mission in this one :cmad: What the hell Fox...

The good news is Marvel got Daredevil back from Fox and we got one of the best shows ever from it.

I will never give up hope!

Hope you saw the real Teller. I'd rather believe he isn't a tool.

Well here is the thing, the mission is a drunken jaunt. Everyone gets drunk and upset that they can't go on the mission so they get drunk and are all like hey, let's go ourselves! It's literally like that Family Guy gag where President Clinton and Peter get high and they are like, "Peter...we can eat that pig!"

So I guess Sue keeps her integrity because she doesn't get drunk with them and make a moronic decision. However, it also makes her involvement with what happened essentially pointless.

If this movie doesn't do well, Fox's only chance is teaming the FF with the X-Men at some point, and play with the characters in that arena. I doubt they're going to try a FOURTH solo film after disappointing results.

Honestly, IF they can do it. They should put them in New Mutants.

Their mission to the other dimension is a drunken jaunt? What the heck? That doesn't sound like the Fantastic Four at all.

The article is full of uncensored swearing so I can't link to it, but he talks to a random waitress about his penis size and says he'll order the reporter the "no rape service" from Uber after she tells him about their recent sexual assault accusations, among other things.

The reporter lady clearly hated him but even after you take out all of her commentary, none of what he says sounds good.

That same reporter lady allegedly did the same thing to Bale long ago. They made her apologize for taking things out of context. Teller does have a punchable face, but i'm going to need to see/hear those receipts.
