I still think that Trank's cut would have been more interesting. "Better"? Who knows. But it would've been more interesting than the scotch-taped ending in the final cut.
This is all highly debatable. John Campea recently revealed on movie talk that, after the FF tanked, he spoke with several people who work closely for Fox asking them if they had ever experienced the studio meddling with films. Their exact answer was, "you have no idea". Again, this was last week. I'm sure Fox is doing all they can to publicly change their reputation, but you can't teach an old dog new tricks.
The difference between Marvel and Fox is that Marvel doesn't hire a film maker, agree to a particular vision, begin production, and then drastically change that vision. Edgar Wright may be the only exception to this rule, but they agreed to that particular vision back in 2006, and they at least had the decency to part ways before filming started.
